Chapter 13

---

**Kate’s POV**

What the heck is this man doing here? I know this motherfucker is not a good man. He’s just another creep, a pervert who watches me pee. I can't take this!

"What the hell do you think you're doing... in the women's toilet?" I yell at him, my voice trembling with rage and disgust.

He casually removes the woman’s jacket he wears and slips off the shoes. His face twists with irritation. "Why can't you mind your own motherfucking business?" he snaps, attempting to turn away, but I’m not going to let him off that easily. I step in his path, blocking him.

“You're joking, right? You think you can leave after peeping on me? You dressed like a woman just to watch ladies get naked!” I shriek at him, my face flushing with fury.

His eyes widen in panic, and he quickly tries to shush me. "Shhh! Who are you, and why can’t you just mind your own business? It's not what you're thinking."

“Then what is it?” I demand, crossing my arms, my glare sharp as daggers.

“Oh God, I'm in a tough position right now, and please, stop shouting,” he says, his voice dropping to a low whisper. His eyes dart around, clearly nervous.

"I'm reporting you to the police, you pervert!" I snap, pulling out my phone, ready to take a picture. As I aim the camera, he suddenly grins, his teeth flashing in a strange, unsettling smile, like he doesn’t care.

“Cheese,” he says mockingly.

I frown and snap the photo anyway.

“Can I go now? You can report me to the police,” he says smugly, as if he thinks I won’t follow through.

What the hell does he think he’s doing? As he turns to leave, he bends down to put his shoes back on, his expression calm, as if he isn’t guilty of anything. But I’m not about to let him walk away. I step in front of him again, my heart pounding. "Pervert, you’re not leaving like that."

“Oh, shit!” He groans, running a hand through his hair, frustration clear on his face. “Who is this woman, and why are you so damn stupid?”

“I’m not stupid! I’m not letting you go. If you've been doing this to other women, it ends here!” I shout, my voice rising.

“Please, shut up! Shhh!” he hisses, suddenly grabbing me and covering my mouth. He pins me against the wall, desperation in his eyes.

“Please, I swear it’s not what it seems. If we both just walk out of here, I’ll explain everything. Please,” he begs, his eyes wide and pleading. For a moment, I can see the sincerity in his face, the panic softening his expression.

Then, a voice comes from behind us. “Kate!”

I turn quickly, and there he is—Kyle, standing at the entrance with fury in his eyes.

“What the hell do you think you're doing?” he roars, sprinting toward us and delivering a swift, solid punch to the man’s face.

Smack!

The man stumbles back, clutching his jaw where Kyle’s fist lands. He winces, clearly shaken but still standing. Blood trickles from the corner of his mouth as he straightens up, glaring at Kyle with a mix of fear and anger.

“What the hell, man? You don't know what’s going on!” the man spits, wiping the blood from his lip. His eyes dart between Kyle and me, calculating his next move.

Kyle takes a threatening step forward, his fists clenched at his sides, his face twisted with rage. “I don’t need to know. You’re messing with the wrong woman, and you’re going to regret it,” he growls, his voice low and dangerous, like he cares. He even tried to kill me, and now he’s acting like a savior?

The man scoffs, "Yo motherfucker, why act like a hero? Last I remember, you're her ex-husband, the one who cheated on her!"

But Kyle isn’t having it. He lunges forward, his muscles tense, ready to unleash another blow. “You think you can just touch her and get away with it?” he roars, every inch of him radiating fury.

“Wait! Kyle, stop!” I shout, stepping between them just as Kyle's fist is about to fly again. I press my hands against his chest, pushing him back as much as I can.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?! What's your business with mine, and what right do you have to punch another man?"

Kyle’s eyes flicker to mine, still burning with anger. “Kate, he is trying to hurt you! It’s a good thing I came in time.”

“No, Kyle,” I state firmly. “He’s not hurting me."

Kyle hesitates, his fists still clenched, the muscles in his arms flexing. "He pinned you against the wall!"

I chuckle. "And you don't have the common sense to understand what that means?"

He frowns, and states, "Look, Kate. You don’t have to pretend like everything is okay. You don’t have to be with this man. You deserve better!"

I chuckle, finding it ridiculous coming from Kyle. "So, who do I deserve? You? The man who cheated on me, burned my baby's corpses, divorced me, and left me to die? Don’t pretend like you care. I know your moves, and I’m not falling for it."

"Kate?"

"Remove my name from your mouth, asshole, and go back to my sister—the love of your life," I say, my voice trembling. Before I know it, my eyes are brimming with tears. No. I have to be strong, but seeing Kyle behaving like this takes me back to when we first met. This was how he saved me from some thugs. He was my hero then, my Superman.

But now, he's just a shit.

"I'm doing very okay, and this man isn’t trying to hurt me, but doing the opposite," I say as I grab the man and pin him against the wall.

He widens his eyes, shocked, wondering what I’m doing. Then I lean in and whisper, "Please let me use you."

He can’t say anything, and I consider that a go-ahead as I press my lips against his, in a romantic, flowing way.
