Chapter Seventy Seven

Mason's POV

She suddenly burst out laughing and her eyes crinkled slightly. Just as the laughter started, it went down so quickly that if I didn't know her I would have been amazed by her quick change in expression.

"You care for her so much. It would be so satisfying to watch her die, won't it?"

"You dare not. Remember, you are playing with fire." I fired back.

"You think your fire can touch me. Talk less of burning me, Mason. Haven't you realized that yet? Whether you like it or not, in this game you are the pawn and I'm the queen. It's either you accept my deal or watch her go down to nothing in front of you."

This time I knew she wasn't joking and making empty threats, after all it would be her greatest joy to watch my doom but I won't let that happen. Not on my watch.
