Chapter Eighty Five

Damien’s POV

I stared at the screen for hours, but I couldn't find any trace of the stalker. I began to wonder if it was all just a figment of our imagination. Maybe it was just a product of our own paranoia, and not reality at all.

But I remembered when she called me aside earlier today, her body shaking in fear, hands clenched together like she had seen a mysterious figure. Her lips quivered like that of a leaf as she tried to speak, and she remained silent for some seconds.

Instead she took two steps back, ran her hand through her beautiful hair, and then calmly walked in front of me again.

I didn't rush her; instead, I gave her all the time in the world. She took her time, and I was there to listen, even if it meant waiting all day. My hand reached out to hers, and she slowly stretched out her hand to meet mine. I pulled her forward, and she rested her head on my chest, like she had been waiting for this moment forever.
