Chapter 64

As Ethan ran through the thick woods, his heart was racing and he was gasping for air. Behind him, he could hear the pack's angry growls, a persistent chase that made him feel like it would swallow him whole.

"Amelia!" he yelled in a desperate tone. He had to find her and tell her about the danger that was coming. She knew a truth that could make everything different.

He ran into a clearing lit by the moon and looked around wildly for her. And there she was, standing at the edge of a small lake that sparkled, her long hair catching the silvery light.

"Amelia!" he yelled again, and as he ran toward her, relief washed over him.

She turned around to face him, and her face showed both surprise and worry. "What's going on, Ethan?"

"There's no time to explain," he gasped as he walked over to her. "We need to leave. Now."

Before she could answer, the pack of wild, growling wolves rushed into the open like a wall. Gabriel was in the front, and his dangerously focused eyes were on Ethan.
