Chapter 72

Ethan's heart was beating fast as he stood in the dark alley, where he could smell danger. The pack got a message that was hard to understand, and it led them to this abandoned part of the city.

Amelia's eyes, which were sharp and aware, looked around them. She whispered, "This doesn't feel right," but the faraway hum of the city made it hard to hear her.

Ethan nodded, his senses tingling with excitement. After everything he'd been through, he'd learned to trust his feelings. He told the group, "Stay close," and his hand moved to the handle of the silver-bladed knife at his side.

As they moved slowly deeper into the alley, the shadows seemed to get darker and scarier. The message said the pack was in danger, and Ethan couldn't get rid of the thought that they were going into a trap.

A low growl was heard in the darkness all of a sudden. The members of the pack tightened up and looked around quickly.
