Ch. 8 Economics Project

Alexandra Lawrence POV:

Thursday 10 Nov

It was 1:50 PM. Currently, Economics class is going on "for the upcoming project you will be assigned, partners. Natalie and Amber, Alexandra and Mattheo, Marcus and Aiko...." After that, I just heard other names from the class that I fully did not know. Mattheo... his name sounded familiar, wasn't he one of the guys who helped the girls for the girl's day this?

I searched for my partner around the room after I said good luck to Amber and Aiko. I accidentally bumped into someone, I looked up to see a familiar pair of hazel eyes. Mattheo... "Hey, sorry" I apologized. "It's alright just be more careful m'lady," he said in a gentle voice, giving me a helping hand. "Quite a gentleman you are," I said, chuckling, grabbing his hand to help me get up.

He has brownish blond locks on his hair quite like mine, and hazel eyes, I could see that he had a ripped kind of laid-back body figure. 30 minutes later "here's my number," I said while putting my phone number in his phone "okay, noon Saturday at the library right?" he reassured me with a charming smile "right" I answered. After a couple of minutes, I heard the bell ring so I started packing my stuff up. "See you later," he said to me while I was heading to the door leaving the class. "See you," I said, smiling at him, then turning around and running to my next class.

It was 5:30 PM, and I had just eaten lunch. Currently, I am researching what type of project we are going to do. I thought about doing neither Tax Reforms nor Digital India Movement. While I was studying Tax Reforms I heard a ring. I looked to my left and saw that it was coming from my phone. I grabbed the phone and the first thing I saw was 'Mattheo Willson'. I had a small smile on my face. I pressed the green button to receive his call. I greeted him with a hi "Hey, do you already have any plans on what the project will be on" he asked me "well, I'm choosing between Tax Reforms and Digital India Movement" I responded "ooh! Do Tax Reform I'm good at those" I said, I chuckled at the way he sounded like a child hearing the word candy "what" he said clueless I could just imagine how he looks at the other side of the phone "nothing, I'll send you the information I already have" I told him while sending the documents.

We talked for a few more minutes before I hung up.

Ring..ring! RING! "hello?" I said, "girl, don't tell me you just woke up!" from what I could figure out, Aiko "Tell Amber wants to come as well or not. I and Leo wanted to invite you guys to have breakfast in his mother's bakery" she exclaimed, "okay we're coming in 1 hour" I replied in a sleepy answer that I did just wake up "kk, I'll send you the location" after that we hung up. It is 9 AM on a Saturday and currently Amber and I are getting ready to go to breakfast with Aiko, Leo, and most likely Xander. I am wearing a black top, flared jeans, and a white unbuttoned shirt.

"Guys, here!" I heard Aiko from a table on the balcony. "hey, guys!" Amber greeted them in a cheery voice while hugging her boyfriend, surprisingly Xander didn't come "how is the Economics project going?" I asked "don't even start about it, I am so tired from yesterday. I and Marcus studied till 2 AM" Aiko said dreading the thought of the project, I chuckled "what would you lovely people like to order?" a waitress came up to us "you're so beautiful" Amber said admiring her "thank you" she let out shyly looking as red as a tomato. I Got french toast and whipped coffee with sliced fruit.

Afterward, I went to the main campus library, I soon as I entered my eyes landed on Xander and this girl. She has Ginger hair, green eyes, freckles and she has an hour-shaped body, why am I feeling jealous... I just walked past them to an empty table and started studying Tax Reforms. I Was reading something from Wikipedia until someone tapped my shoulder, I turned around to see Xander? "hey" I said and then focused back on what I was reading "you good?" he asked "yeah, why" I answered a little bit too quickly "looks like you were jealous seeing me and Natalie study?" he said it with a small smirk, no wonder she looked familiar it was Natalie from Economics. We chatted for a while before Mattheo arrived and we studied till the library closed.

"want to grab lunch with me?" Mattheo asked while we were exiting the library "sorry, maybe another time I gotta shower and I have a few other assignments" I said a little tired "it is okay, next time I owe you a lunch k?" he said with that same charming smile, I chuckled " Okay, see you!'' I said walking back to the dorms.

After showering I wore white comfy shorts and a top. After I finally finished all my due assignments it was 11 PM and I felt really tired. Amber was currently binging on her favorite show, I was really hungry. I only had a salad for lunch and I skipped dinner. I went to the pantry, there was one more packet of instant ramen so I decided to make some. While I was cooking I felt some stares so I looked to my left to see Mattheo and his friends come through the door, I waved to him and continued cooking. I was reading one of my favorite romance novels in the common room. there were some people but I was 100% focused on the book, a spicy scene was happening and I couldn't help but widen my eyes a little "oh, you're reading this part" a voice from behind me said, a little startled I turned around to see Aiko, we talked for around an hour or two and I went to go back to my dorm and fell asleep.

Mattheo Willson POV:

as I picked up the phone a wave of anger filled inside me "Yes father?" I said in a monotone voice "did you get her?" He said to me casually "yes I did" I answered "son, I and your mother thought if you would like to come here for Christmas-" I hung up and went to bed thinking if I made the right decision...

Alexandra Lawrence POV:

It was currently Wednesday, the Economics project presentation day. It is 7:30 AM right now and I just came back from the shower. I wore a white T-shirt overlapping it with a black top with black flared jeans and my bag. I ate a strawberry kiwi smoothie bowl for breakfast and headed to the library. As expected, it was a little more full than usual, I found the same table me and Mattheo were at and started to finish the slide. Just in time as I finished the slide the bell rang, I stood up and went to the second floor of the Economics classroom, I saw Mattheo at his table at the back and I went to him and started to discuss what we were going to do about the presentation.

Mattheo wasn't that bad at least he was nice to me unlike what Xander did to me in high school, not in a way like I see him as an older brother he may be just a friend but I know that he is more than what people say about him, especially all the theories since the Black company and the Willson company are rivals. he is chill with Xander well that's what I see and he is a nice dude... his brownish blonde hair locks quite like mine and his lean back body figure...

My thoughts were cut by someone entering the classroom, it was me, Mattheo, and the teacher, the other students hadn't come yet. it was Xander and Natalie... they look so perfect together, I wonder if they are still dating. what the fuck am I thinking? just focus back on the project Alexandra, but what if they are? just forget it.

"Lastly, Alexandra and Mattheo!" Mr. Smith called our names, I and Mattheo were last before Xander and Natalie and their presentation was the definition of perfect. As Xander and Natalie were sitting down and giving each other a fist bump for doing good, Mattheo and I stood up gathering our things to the front.

"and that's the end of our presentation, thank you '' I let out a sigh, and unexpectedly the whole class clapped. I and Mattheo gave each other a knowing smile and started to gather our things and went to sit down back at our desks. "Alexandra, Xander, and Mattheo could you guys stay back for a while?" Mr. Smith asked us both to nod our heads gesturing a yes. surprisingly, we're going to the advanced Economics class and it meant something to me. My brother's wish was to start his business and to be his boss, no one tells him what to do, living freely, happily... but that's why I'm here!

while leaving the classroom I hugged Mattheo "Thank you!" I said almost going to start crying, he chuckled causing his chess to vibrate a little "You're welcome.." he said proud but with a little tinge of guilt. It was 8 PM and I had just eaten dinner with Aiko and Amber, we ate Garlic Butter Turkey Meatballs with Zucchini Noodles. I went to shower and after I got out I wore plaid pants and an oversized hoodie since I had nothing to do. I thought about writing in my diary for a long time.

Dear Diary,

I don't know what I'm feeling anymore. I call my parents every week, I'm doing good in my studies and I have amazing friends but. sometimes it's just confusing, I got into advanced economics class and I'm one step toward accomplishing my brother's dream but I just feel alone. I feel like no one understands me, my parents never would, I don't have a sibling...anymore, and my friends don't want to seem like I'm attention seeking. and besides Xander also most probably are great 'friends' i might act like I know what to achieve and have amazing parents but sometimes I just want to tell someone what I feel and they can understand me for once in my life!

for some reason everyone I fucking love just leaves me, I just fucking don't know anymore. I just wish that someone understands me and that I'm not alone, even if it seems like I am. I know there is someone, it's just maybe I never met them. could Mattheo be like that... or maybe Xander...

I shut my diary and just took out my favorite book from the shelf and started reading. I didn't even notice that 2 hours went by at 10:30 PM and I decided to go to sleep. It was early but I didn't feel like talking to anyone so I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth then went to sleep.

Xander Black POV:

After I ate dinner I went to shower and afterward I wore a white tank top and black sweatpants. surprisingly, Amber and Mattheo were really good and I'm glad that we got advanced in Economics. Amber looked happy with Mattheo like I'm not supposed to feel jealous but not even a little. I just wished that I went back in time and saw what Alexandra was made of.

she is perfect. Natalie is not even close to her, her personality and I just feel bad that she might have lost her confidence because of...me. I just didn't know myself back then, my mother was absent from my life, and my father couldn't care less my whole life. I had this burden that I will protect everyone and everything I have. but I have already messed up. I just wish I wasn't like this!

maybe if I had fucking sense in my brain I would have not rejected Alexandra and made such a huge shitty mistake but she has probably already moved on...on Mattheo-

My train of thought was cut by Leo turning off the lights "time to go to sleep overthinker" he teased "yeah, yeah goodnight" I said laying down in my bed and turning to the bed "is it about Alexandra?" Leo said I sighed "I'll tell ya tomorrow" I turned my head to him smiling at him and then went back to sleep trying to forget everything and just escape reality...
