The meeting

It was morning and Malakai was getting set for the meeting with Hector in regards to how they can help the Halo clan rise back to their feet and save them from further catastrophes and impending dooms.

Hireath was still asleep. The morning sun ray made its way to her face and shone so brightly as though she were a goddess.

Malakai for a moment lost track of what he was doing as he stared lustfully at his beloved wife and queen while she laid peacefully like an angel on the bed.

“How blessed I am. Waking up to this beautiful sight every morning. As each passing day goes by, I find myself falling more intoxicatingly in love with this beautiful soul.”

Malakai used his hand to remove some parts of Hireath’s hair that covered her face and kissed her on her forehead. Malakai stared at Hireath face more directly for a longer period of time.

Hireath opened her eyes slowly as she caught Malakai completely lost in his loving gaze at her. From gazing into her eyes to a flashing big smile. One could say Malakai has been bewitched. He was just helplessly in love, his body felt at ease, he felt free to be his true self as their connection was just natural.

“What's with the charming look,my love?”

“I just couldn't resist being smitten by your striking beauty.”

“You're already dressed. What's the occasion?” Hireath asked surprised to see Malakai all dressed up.

“The meeting that was rescheduled for this morning, my lady.”

“And you couldn't even wake me up to get ready alongside you.”

“I just didn't want to disturb you from your beauty sleep. I could watch you sleep for hours non stop. To show you how satisfying it was to behold your radiating beauty this blissful morning.”

“Go away with your flattery this morning. Give me some minutes and I'll be all set to leave with you.”

“Take all the time in the world. I'll be right here waiting for you like your knight in shining armor.”

Malakai waited some minutes for Hireath. She came out gorgeously dressed and they both headed for the throne room where the elders, Hector and his mother were waiting.

“Here comes the king and queen.” The guard at the door announced their presence. Everyone at the throne room rose to their feets and bowed in obeisance to the king and the queen as they sat on their respective thrones.

“Please be seated.” Malakai ordered.

“This meeting has been long due and has been postponed for some days now due to the disruption of the first. I hope we get to discuss productively on the way forward to helping out fellow wolves in need of help. Anyone with good suggestions is free to speak up. Let the meeting commence.”

The chief elder got up, cleared his throat and spoke. “My king , you've said well but I think we need to hear from the horse's mouth. He needs to tell us how bad the condition with his clan is so we can know what to do. I hope I've spoken well?”

The other elders nodded and agreed in unison with the chief elder. So Hector stood up and walked to the center of the throne room to explain vehemently the catastrophic events that befell the Halo clan.

“Well, my clan has been doomed with several evil and calamities that cannot be explained. Things like death among members of the pack, famine and starvation, drought , strange sickness that has no cure and many other unfortunate happenings.”

“I've tried all I could. The seer of my pack has carried out so many sacrifices pleading with the moon goddess to come to our rescue. But all our efforts have proved to be abortive. We were on the verge of giving up completely, waiting with all readiness for the worst that could happen even if that meant the Halo clan going extinct completely. We were that miserable, hopeless and helpless before we heard of the Lycan pack and in our desperateness we risked all that we had to come this far seeking help.”

Hireath was so sad and broken when she heard everything Hector said. She could see how much they suffered by the look of hopelessness on Hector. She thought she didn't care nor will be moved no matter how pathetic the story was. But here she is struggling so hard against all odds to fight back the army of tears that were fighting their way out.

Hireath thought back to the good old days with Hector and the Halo clan. It really broke her heart to hear such evil that came upon them. Even though they hurt her and treated her badly. She didn't wish they endured such hardship.

“Please my clan will be completely destroyed if nothing is done to save our already messed up situation.” Hector continued.

“I'm beckoning to everyone present here. Please the Lycan pack is the last ray of hope left for the Halo clan. If no help or solution comes out from here. Then it is really the end for me and the Halo clan.”

At this point, Hector went on his knees in the middle of the throne room. His mother went out to kneel beside him as she couldn't help but break down in tears to show the extreme state of desperation and vulnerability.

The throne room was completely quiet for some minutes as everyone was in total shock and couldn't find any word to utter.

Malakai broke the silence. “ Now we've heard from the horse's mouth and we can now understand how dire and important our role to help them is. So what do we do from here? How do we take up the case from here now? I need answers from my elders. That is why I asked for everyone to be in attendance.”

The Elders , the Lords, the Beta and Gemma, all in their different ranks, gathered themselves together and had separate meetings with each other in a few minutes.

After some minutes of dialogues from them. The chief elder got up to speak.

“My Lord , this is a very crucial matter that needs enough consideration. I'd suggest we first and foremost send enough foodstuffs to the Halo clan while Hector and his mother still remain with us. Until we arrive at a permanent solution to put an end to the catastrophic events.”

Another member of the Gemma spoke up in support of the chief elder’s suggestion.

“Your highness, I concur with the chief elder. While we're still deciding on a more permanent solution, it is important that good food and health care facilities be sent out to them. We can have our armies start sending out the supplies to them. We also take physicians and health care specialists to them , so those sick can be well treated and recover. Then we reschedule another meeting, we can invite our seer to also seek counseling and guidance from the moon goddess.”

“You have all spoken well. I must commend you all. Let's proceed immediately as you have all said. The head of the Gemma should mobilize our armies that will be sending out the food supplies as soon as possible. Let's also choose competent health care facilities that will also accompany our armies to the Halo clan.” Malakai said.

“I'll send for our pack’s seer. So we can set a date to meet and hear from the moon goddess. I'll send for you all immediately a date with the seer has been set. You may all leave now.” Malakai said as he adjourned the meeting.

Everyone took their leave. Malakai called out to Hector and asked that he wait behind after everyone had left.
