CHAPTER 13

(ATLAS' POV - IN RHEA'S BODY)

"Ugh… I'm exhausted…" I groaned, feeling utterly drained.

The dimly lit room offered little solace as I lay there, my body tense with fatigue and discomfort. The hay beneath me wasn't giving me much relief either. Its coarse texture only serving to exacerbate the discomfort that gnawed at my bones.

My chaotic state of mind was worsened by the lingering ache of the wolfsbane which managed to seep beneath my whiplash wounds. Its toxic tendrils snaked through my veins like icy tendrils, coiling around my every nerve.

Initially, I had hoped to simply sleep off the pain, but instead, I found myself tossing and turning on the makeshift bed as minutes stretched into eternity. Frustration simmered within me, bubbling up until it spilled over in muttered words of irritation.

"What's wrong with this woman?" I grumbled in annoyance.
