(RHEA'S POV - IN ATLAS' BODY)

“Recent surveys and patrols indicate that the pack's territory remains secure... However, there have been reports of increased activity along the western border.…”

I chanted those words like a mantra, frustration lacing my tone as I attempted to make sense of the report.

Did I understand any of them?

I could only wish.

I was buried in paperwork when Kaida knocked on the door, her urgency cutting through the monotony like a sharp blade. Each knock echoed my mounting irritation with the endless reports scattered across my desk.

As I struggled to decipher the complexities of pack security, doubts crept into my mind. How was I supposed to lead effectively when my experience was limited to serving as a maid? Atlas's memories, while helpful, could only guide me so far in this unfamiliar role.
