Chapter 22 As Arrogant As Ever

Sophia sat on the sofa, calmly toying with her phone. She had a faint smile on her face.

“I knew it,” she said with a knowing smile. “You’ll let me go the same way you locked me up, William!”

William’s face turned purple with anger. He pointed at the bodyguards and barked, “Get her!”

Sophia chuckled. “I must remind you that unlawfully detaining someone or depriving them of their personal freedom is punishable by years of imprisonment, detention, control, and deprivation of political rights. And if there are elements of violence or insult involved, the punishment will become even more severe. Are you sure you want that to happen?”

He could barely contain his anger. “You set up the surveillance in the lobby, didn’t you?”

She replied easily, “Yep, that’s right. What do you think? Was the footage clear enough for you? Did it capture all the nasty things your son and his woman were up to?”
