The next morning I woke up bright and early so I could get everything ready for the trip home. I finally decided to read the message I had received last night. This only further confused me, does he think it’s ok to be ice cold one minute then try to apologize the next? I really could use a strong drink and it's not even noon yet. I met Logan in the lobby before the car arrived to take us to the airport. Logan of course looked great but I didn’t let it affect me. Logan walked up to me and asked, “Do you want anything to eat before leaving?”“No I’m fine, thank you though” I responded politely. I wasn’t going to let him see my anger or how upset I was with him. I refuse to let him get the best of me. He shrugged and we headed out to the car. I didn’t say anything to him on the way to the airport. I was looking out of the window but I wasn’t really looking at anything. My mind wouldn’t stop running long enough for me to concentrate on anything. I wanted to tell Logan that he hurt me by
“Please don’t move away Miss Peters” is what I heard throughout my last day at New Hope Elementary School. I felt terrible for moving away from my students but I knew it was time to move on to bigger and better things.I have been a first grade teacher for ten years living in a small town in Arizona. I love my little cottage and the people in town but I’ve always dreamed of living in one of the biggest cities in the US; Los Angeles, California. I was starting to get anxious because I was just realizing how close tomorrow was. I was trying to pack up my desk at the school so I could have the afternoon to pack up the rest of my house. My students were a little upset with me since I was leaving rather suddenly. I didn’t know how to explain to first graders that I had to get out of this small town.“Lilly, where are you?”, a voice called out.“I’m in here trying to get some things packed away and ready for the next teacher” I replied. I knew Lisa was coming over this afternoon to help me,
I arrived at the dry cleaners that was listed in the letter around 9am, I gave them Mr. McAlister’s name and they immediately brought me the two suits I was picking up. The dry cleaner’s shop was a little grungy looking; it surprised me that a rich man such as Mr. McAlister would even bring his clothes here. I grabbed the suits and headed out the door. I needed to make a good first impression so I wanted to arrive at the office early and make sure everything was ready for my egotistical boss.I got to the office and had to take a step back just to look at how beautiful it was. It had a gothic sort of look to it but it was also updated with beautiful floor to ceiling windows; it actually took my breath away just looking at it. The gothic scenery made me think of how fitting this building was for Mr. McAlister, scary and mean goes pretty well with the building. I took the elevator to the fifteenth floor getting more nervous with each floor passing by. I wasn’t paying attention when I ca
I’m running as fast as I can through the trees, my heart is racing. I feel like it will explode any minute. I can see the opening in the gate, my escape isn’t far off. I hear people yelling dogs barking, I know they are searching for me. I’m almost to the exit, my freedom, “Stop right there!!!” The guard yelled. I keep running, there’s a gunshot and it all goes black. I shot up from the bed drenched in sweat, heart racing. I look at my surroundings and realize I’m in my apartment in L.A. I rub my eyes and try to focus on my room. This nightmare has been occurring every night for the past six months. Something is going to have to change so I can actually get some sleep. I look at the alarm clock, 5:30am, crawling from the bed, grabbing my work clothes and heading for the shower. Getting out of the shower I glance in the mirror and see the dark circles on my chest and shoulders. Just another reminder of my secret life, a life I wish I could get away from quickly. I walk into the kitch
I woke up wondering how today was going to go with Logan McAlister; it has been a week and he has been extremely irritating since the day I started. I’m not sure if I can handle working for him much longer before I blow up, he knows how to push every button I have without even trying. The only plus side to Mr. McAlister is that I get to look at his sexy smile every day, what I wouldn’t give just to kiss those sexy soft lips of his. When I arrived at the office, Logan was in his office yelling at someone on the phone. I'm just glad it isn’t me this time. I lightly knocked on his door to see if he wanted his coffee, “What!” Logan yelled towards the door.“Sorry Mr. McAlister, I just wanted to see if you wanted your coffee,” I said sheepishly. Why does he always have to be in such a bad mood towards me, I really don’t understand what I have done so wrong?“Can you not see that I am busy on the phone? Why would you come knock on my door when I’m sure you could hear me on the phone?” He so
When we pulled up to the café I was shocked to see how little and normal the café was. I was thinking Logan would go somewhere exotic or fancy but maybe I was thinking of Logan the wrong way. The dry cleaner he goes to is also in a small neighborhood that isn’t fancy at all, I’m definitely starting to think I may have been wrong about Mr. McAlister. He helped me out of the black Mercedes he drove. We walked into the café and sat close to the big open window facing the busy street. I loved people watching so this table was perfect and maybe it could distract me from thinking about Logan McAlister too much. The waitress arrived and offered us free samples while we were waiting. I already liked this café. I wasn’t really in the mood for a big lunch at the moment so I just ordered a blueberry muffin and a coffee. Logan gave me a sideways glance, “Are you sure you don’t want anything more than that? It is my treat, no need to worry about paying.”“No, I'm fine, I’m not really that hungry.
After getting home from the office I set my keys on the table and poured myself a scotch. I didn’t know how to go about getting Lilly to go on a date with me so I just said the first thing that came to my head. I can’t believe I actually made a bet that I could go a month without yelling or being rude, I’m really going to have to keep control of myself. I’ve always had a temper problem when things aren’t going as planned, I guess now is the time to learn how to control it. Lilly has to be one of the most beautiful women I have ever laid eyes on; she has those sexy exotic eyes and full luscious lips that I could kiss all day. I loved how she stood up to me when I got angry, that’s the kind of woman I needed in my life, someone that wasn’t scared of me. Maybe I should start sending her flowers every few days and see if it calms her fire. I walked into the kitchen to see Frannie making dinner, “So how did it go today with your new assistant?” she asked. “Well I think I might have m
I came out of my office to head to a meeting across town. I noticed the huge arrangement of orange and yellow lilies and smiled to myself. I would definitely have to thank Frannie later for such a good choice in flowers. “Lilly I will be leaving for the afternoon due to some meetings across town, can you make sure to email me any messages I receive?” “Sure thing Mr. McAlister”, Lilly replied. As I looked towards her desk I stated, “Wow someone must have a special person back home if they are sending flowers like this.” Lilly blushed bright red and stated, “Actually, I have no idea who they are from, but they definitely are beautiful.” She leaned over to smell the flowers giving me a great view down her satin blouse. I couldn’t help but look at her perfectly round breasts. “Well, was there a card or anything?” I asked. “Yes but it doesn’t say who it’s from”, she stated with a frown. “All it says is beautiful flowers for a beautiful woman.” “So it sounds like you may have a secret
