“Please don’t move away Miss Peters” is what I heard throughout my last day at New Hope Elementary School. I felt terrible for moving away from my students but I knew it was time to move on to bigger and better things.I have been a first grade teacher for ten years living in a small town in Arizona. I arrived at the dry cleaners that was listed in the letter around 9am, I gave them Mr. McAlister’s name and they immediately brought me the two suits I was picking up. I’m running as fast as I can through the trees, my heart is racing. I feel like it will explode any minute. I can see the opening in the gate, my escape isn’t far off. I hear people yelling dogs barking, I know they are searching for me. I’m almost to the exit, my freedom, “Stop right there!!!” The guard yelled. I keep running, there’s a gunshot and it all goes black. I shot up from the bed drenched in sweat, heart racing. I look at my surroundings and realize I’m in my apartment in L.A. When we pulled up to the café I was shocked to see how little and normal the café was. I was thinking Logan would go somewhere exotic or fancy but maybe I was thinking of Logan the wrong way. The dry cleaner he goes to is also in a small neighborhood that isn’t fancy at all, I’m definitely starting to think I may have been wrong about Mr. McAlister.
