chapter 22: caught in the act

Sonia stood rooted to the ground in shock as she stared at the figures walking out. “At this rate, I think it's better I don't trust anyone except myself.” she voiced her disappointment.

“Please don't misunderstand me. Everything I do is with your interest at heart. I know how much you long to unite with your family, and I don't want to raise your hopes until I'm sure of my findings.” he explained hurriedly as he wrapped her with his coat, seating her back on the bench.

“So what have you figured out?” she asked.

“During all my research, I wasn't able to figure out any relationship between the two, but I think I'm certain now.”

“About?” Sonia asked.

“The relationship between them.” he responded.

“Based on this?” she asked, pointing to the men who were still discussing unbothered.

“Nope. Oscar groups have been existing for two years and still counting, and he only found out after my partnership with Williams co-operation.” he responded.
