Chapter One

Allison's grip tightened on the doorframe as she clutched it for support. Her heart sank as she saw a woman on top of her husband on their matrimonial bed. She broke down in a cold sweat.

“Babe! Why don't you just divorce her now? I mean you already have what you need from her.” She heard the familiar voice.

It was Bella, her half-sister, whom she loved and cherished.

Allison couldn't move or make any sound, tears gushed down her cheeks, her chest tightened and her legs went weak. Everything seemed like she was dreaming. She pinched herself to see if she was gonna feel any pain.

It was real. Everything that was happening was real. The man she had loved since childhood and even married for three years was on her matrimonial bed with the sister she had sacrificed almost all her life for.

“I need more time babe. I still need her to secure more investments for the company before divorcing her.” Charles Reynolds protested.

“You sure? It's not like you falling in love with her and planning to keep her by your side forever, right?” Bella asked, her voice laced with pity.

“No babe! You have to trust me on this. As soon as she secures the investment that she's working on at the moment, I'm divorcing her. I promise you, babe.” Charles coaxed her and planted a kiss on her cheeks.

Allison was still in shock with all she just heard. The man she had loved all her life had just been using her for the growth of his company. She felt a mix of emotions - anger, sorrow, disbelief etched on her features.

They didn't even notice she had been standing in the room all along, they were oblivious to their own world. She had just secured an investment for his company like she always did but this time, it was a more profitable contract. She couldn't believe the man she was striving hard for had been cheating on her.

She felt bitter in her heart and uncontrollable tears gushed down her cheeks. Her cries became louder when she saw that they were about to make out again without still noticing her.

Charles and Bella were brought back to reality when they heard her crying.

Charles looked towards the door and saw Allison standing. His eyes widened in shock. He immediately shoved Bella's hands off his body. Bella got off him and they both covered their naked bodies.

“Alli-son, w-h-at… a-re…” He stuttered over his words. He couldn't find the right words.

“It's not what you think, darling. She was just here to…!”

“To sleep with you?” Allison cuts in.

“No…! Not what you think. We can settle this darling.” He protested shamelessly.

Allison couldn't believe what she just heard. This man was truly shameless.

She walked to him in fury and slapped him hard on his face, pouring all the frustrations she had felt into the slap.

“This is for using and deceiving me all these years.”

“What are you doing? Have you gone nuts?” Bella yelled at her.

“You? I can't believe you still have your eyes on my husband after everything mum made me sacrifice for you. You still want to take Charles away from me? Guess what? You are wrong, I will never let it happen.” She thundered.

“I will make sure I destroy that career I've helped you build for years, Bella.” She tugged her hand into her bag and brought out her phone, she took pictures of Bella and Charles on the bed. “Let's see what will happen if this ever gets out.” She spatted.

“Charles, do something, please. She's gonna destroy me and my career.” She cried out maliciously.

Charles got down from the bed, wrapping a towel around his waist.

“Give that phone to me.” He ordered.

“Why? Are you trying to protect your mistress?” Allison laughed.

“Stop dreaming, Charles.” She hissed and walked towards the door.

“If you walk out of this room right now, I'm divorcing you.” He threatened.

Allison stopped in her tracks. He can't divorce her now, not when she had just secured a large investment in his company. She could forgive him if he asked for her forgiveness. But divorcing her? No, she won't allow that. She won't allow her marriage of three years to crumble because of her evil sister.

“Divorce me you say? Are you really thinking of doing that right now?” She paused and continued.

“Divorce me and see how I bring down Reynolds Incorporated. I will make sure I destroy every damn thing related to that company. I revived the company and made it what it is today with my hard work and intelligence. Trust me, I can use that same intelligence to bring it down.” She whisper-yelled.

Charles' eyes widened in disbelief. He knew she could destroy his company in a twinkle of an eye. She had helped him revive the company when it was failing, even if he couldn't explain how she was able to do it.

Bella walked quietly behind Allison and struck the transparent glass table in the room on her head.

“Hell would be a promotion for someone like you.” She pouted angrily.

Charles hurriedly grabbed her phone from her before she slowly landed on the floor hitting her head on the tiled ground.

Allison felt a sharp pain like a searing hot knife slicing through her skull. She felt something wet oozing out at the back of her head, she couldn't even raise a finger to feel what it was.

She felt weak and her vision became hazy gradually.

“Hos… hos_pi_tal.” She croaked, with the last strength she had left in her.

She saw the evil look Charles had on his face, determined not to help her or save her as if he had wanted her to die already.

He squatted beside her and said, “Just die silently. Even your mother does not love you. How am I supposed to?”

She rolled her eyes and glanced at Bella, she had a wide grin on her face.

These two wanted her to die, they weren't going to help her. This was how they were going to reward her after everything she had sacrificed for the both of them. She regretted everything she ever did for them.

But what she regretted most was marrying Charles.

She tried to fight, to cling for life but the energy drained from her like water slipping through her fingers. Her vision narrowed, and everything faded to black. Even the pain in her skull started to fade as she lost consciousness.

The world became a blur, her thoughts were a jumble of panic and sorrow. Her breathing became slow, everything went dark before slipping away entirely.

She had lost her life in the cold hands of her half-sister and husband. If she could still turn things around, she'd fight for her life and make them pay greatly for their sins.

But would she still have the chance to do that?
