After Janet left, Edwin called Ben.

“I have transferred one million to her account,” Ben informed and Edwin just hummed.

He was busy with his thoughts.

“Ben, find out what’s happening with her.” Edwin’s one demand was enough for Ben to get on with his work.

He had already guessed Edwin would demand that, so he had arranged everything beforehand.

“Miss Brown lives with her mother in a single-parent household. Her mother is hospitalized. So maybe that’s why she needs the money.” Ben informed.

Edwin was surprised to hear that.

That’s the reason for her haggard look.

Edwin was regretful, thinking he had taken advantage of her desperate state.

But he was also curious and wanted to keep her close.

Offering her the post of his secretary wasn’t a decision of the moment.

It was something he wanted to do, and the salary would be of great help.

Maybe everything happened for the best!
