When they came back after lunch, Janet tried to ignore those toxic people, but their glances and whispers were getting on her nerves.

She could not help herself from thinking about how wrong the impression she was giving to those people was.

“Miss Brown, here are some files you need to sort out today.” Ben came and placed a stack of files on her desk.

“These files are important, so check them carefully,” Ben warned and Janet nodded, though she didn’t know how much she could do.

The workload was hectic even though it was her first day and her mind was a jumbled mess.

She listlessly opened one file after another, but couldn’t get a single word written on those files.

She didn’t even notice when one of her colleagues was passing beside her and intentionally poured a glass of water over her.

“Ah!” Janet got up shirking.

“Oh, I am sorry Miss brown. I slipped accidentally.” The girl said, making an apologetic look.

Janet tried to dry herself using her hand.

“It’s fine.” Janet didn’t dwell on
