Killian's POV.

I felt an intense throbbing pain in my head the second my eyes fluttered open to the bright light that reflected through the windows of my room.

“Shit!” I exclaimed, clutching my head as I sat up on my bed, my eyes briefly closed just to stop the pain, just to stop the pang that I felt.

“What’s happening to me?” I muttered softly, trying to make it stop. Soon, the door opened, and Beta Dayton came into the room.

“You are awake!” he exclaimed as he ran towards my bedside. He was pretty happy to see me, and I wasn’t sure why.

“Shut the curtains… it keeps disturbing me!” I commanded, and without hesitation, he did as he was told.

“How do you feel now?” he asked after closing the curtains.

I let go of my head and, turning to him, I nodded gently. “That’s more like it!” I let out a relieved sigh as I leaned on the frame of the bed, my eyes fixed on the door before me.
