Killian's POV.

“Alpha Killian, you called!” Beta Dayton's voice resonated through the room the second he entered, his head bowed slightly as he showed his respect to me.

I paused for a second, my eyes still fixed outside the room as my back was turned to him. I tried my best to hide it, to hide my pain, but it wasn't working. It felt like I was forcing something that wasn't meant to be.
