AUTHOR’S POV

Caesar’s eyes widened by an inch before his eyebrows pulled down in a frown. He took one step out of his hiding place, paused then walked out completely to meet the back of the Princess he'd been trailing for days on end.

“Rather than spying, why not come out to ask plainly?” Odessa asked, not turning around to look at him.

“We’ve tried that, but you were not truthful.” Caesar responded his voice void of hostility but cold all the same.

Odessa chuckled, “Who are you to decide if I've been truthful or not?”

“Really? Fine, I'll leave it for you to decide. Now tell me Princess Odessa, were you honest?” Caesar asked, his mouth stretched thin in a frown. “You might have fooled the rest but you can't fool me.”

Odessa turned them. Her gaze met his, and she smiled, “Well, if you're still spying on me till now, then it means I’ve succeeded in fooling you. You must not have found any substantial evidence to confront me yet.”
