He truly trust her

“Let’s start with where we left off. You started talking about last night.” Jake suggested, gesturing to where they had been sitting when she had finished speaking.

“Right. Okay. We were at the club.” She paused for a moment, trying to gather her thoughts.

“I was dancing with you. You had asked me to dance the last time that we danced, and I said yes. That’s when I realized what I had done.”

Jake frowned, confused by what she was saying. “What did you do?”

She shook her head helplessly, unable to bring herself to meet his eyes. “Nothing bad. At least, not intentionally. Well...not yet anyway.” She admitted hesitantly. “I had lied to you. I haven’t told you the truth, and I shouldn’t have lied. I was trying to protect you. I’m sorry.”

Jake sighed deeply. “That’s fine. I get it. I probably deserved to know the truth, too.”

“No.” She denied hurriedly, almost immediately raising her voice. “Don’t you dare say that.”
