Chapter 24

Rose's POV

When I woke up, I was in the same hospital room, surrounded by machines and beeping monitors. My mother was sitting next to me, her face grim and serious.

"Rose, you're awake," she said, her voice low and gentle.

"Mom, what happened?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper. The last thing I remembered was seeing blood and nothing else.

"You fainted after bleeding last night. The doctors were able to save you from bleeding to death. "How are you feeling now?"

I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through my abdomen, making me gasp in pain. My mother quickly helped me to sit up, and the pain slowly subsided.

"I feel sore all over," I said, my voice shaky. "What happened to me?"

My mother sighed and looked down at her hands. "It's because of the baby and the bleeding you had. The doctors would come in soon to check up on you and then we would know what's wrong."

After a while, The pain had subsided, and I was able to sit up and move around a bit. A nurse came in with breakfast,
