Chapter 28

Rose's POV

I remained rooted to the ground, unable to move. But before he could reach me, my father swiftly stepped in and used his own long and sharp claws to pierce through the man's chest, killing him instantly.

The man shook and he collapsed to the ground with a thud, his body lifeless. My father quickly turned to me, his eyes filled with concern but he didn't say anything.

I stared in horror as the man remained on the ground, lifeless. I couldn't believe that I had just witnessed someone's death, even if he was a kidnapper and had tried to harm me.

My father wrapped his arm around me, pulling me close, and whispered, "It's okay. You're safe now." Then he sent for someone to bring my mother while he scanned the surroundings.

I felt a sense of relief wash over me as I realized that the nightmare was finally over. But at the same time, I couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt that I had somehow caused someone's death.

As if killing someone was a piece of cake, my father walked away
