My mind raced, trying to process the information. The wedding and the crucial meeting on the same day? How could this happen? It felt like the universe was playing a cruel joke on me.

"Simon, are you serious?" I asked, my voice tinged with disbelief. "How did this scheduling conflict arise? We can't afford to compromise either event."

Simon's voice remained calm and composed as he explained, "Alpha, it was an unexpected change. The council elders alongside others must have shifted the date not knowing it would clash with the business meeting. What are we going to do now Alpha?”

I sighed, trying to collect my thoughts. It was an unfortunate turn of events, but I couldn't let it derail our plans. The contract was crucial for our future, and my wedding held significant political implications.
