POV: CALLIE
“What? Why would I do that?” Orion asked anxiously. “Did you have another vision? Is something bad about to happen?”
“I’m not sure, but I need you to be safe… Please, I insist that you leave the pack today!” I pleaded. Even though I couldn’t see, I could sense he was hesitating. “Orion?”
“Alright… But what about you?” he asked, and I felt him stand up with a heavy sigh.
“I’ll be fine. Just stay safe—you’re like a brother to me,” I said, forcing a smile.
“Brother,” the Omega growled in distaste. “You better still be alive when I return to the pack!”
“I’ll do my best!”
I sensed he had left. In a prayer, I called out to the Goddess:
“Please, protect my friend and brother in spirit.”
I succumbed once again to the exhaustion of my wounds and awoke in my darkness to a sharp kick in my stomach. I groaned desperately, tears welling up as I sniffed the air. Among the scents, I recognized someone familiar—someone furious.
“You wretch! You made me look bad in front of the Alpha today!” he hissed, grabbing my fur and yanking me upward before delivering another brutal kick to my body.
“Me?” I whimpered. “Forgive me, Dante.”
Grabbing my head, Dante brought his foul breath close to my snout. I couldn’t help but wet myself in fear.
“Disgusting creature,” he growled, letting me go. “Once we’re joined, it’ll only be a matter of time before your life is snuffed out for good. Then I can have a real mate.”
“Like Esmeralda?” I snarled through clenched teeth, anger burning in my voice.
“Jealous?” he sneered, his cold laughter echoing as he grabbed me again. My body was limp and weak, no longer able to endure such relentless torment. “You’ll never be able to give me what I want or meet my needs. Look at you… not even the goddess had pity for a wolf like you!”
“If you make it through the night alive, maybe Esmeralda will give you what you desire,” I said with bitter irony, feeling the vibrations of the ground shift beneath us. The air grew heavier, and the scent from outside was thick with power, hatred, and blood.
“What are you talking about?” Dante growled, his fury rising.
“Dante? Have you prepared the prey?” the Alpha’s commanding voice boomed as his firm footsteps approached.
“Yes, my king,” Dante threw me to the ground as he answered the Alpha with vehemence. I trembled, understanding the weight of his words—my father wouldn’t leave me in peace. He wouldn’t wait for me to heal before hurting me again.
“My Alpha,” I whispered, trembling with fear of being reprimanded. “I’m not in acceptable condition to be a worthy prey for your hunt… I beg you, give me this night to recover.”
Something grabbed my flesh tightly, tearing through it as if ripping fabric apart. I screamed in agony, my body trembling uncontrollably.
“If you want to eat tonight, you useless wolf, you’ll have to contribute to the pack in some way!” My father’s foul, bloodthirsty breath made my insides twist in disgust. “Don’t disappoint me this time. You know how I feel about easy prey.”
His words sent shivers down my spine. I nodded silently, letting the tears flow freely.
“Yes, my king.” I whispered, resigned to my fate.
As I was dragged away, I heard the hushed whispers and laughter of other wolves mocking my situation. In the distance, I caught snippets of their conversation:
“Finally, the Alpha is going to get rid of the cursed one,” growled a wolf.
“Maybe then the Goddess will bless us again,” remarked a she-wolf.
At that moment, everything became clear. The reason the hunt was resuming, with the Lycan king himself chasing me… This wasn’t just another hunting exercise; it was an impending execution. My own father would toy with my fear and despair, tearing through my flesh before finally ending my life, breaking even my spirit.
I trembled uncontrollably, weak from the lingering pain in my body. They released me, their dark laughter echoing. I heard Hunter say:
“Run, prey. Let this be one last, pleasurable hunt.” He growled into my lupine ear. “I’ll give you a head start. Go on, run fast.”
Even though I was shaking, I began to run, stumbling and falling repeatedly. I stopped when I came across what seemed to be a hollow tree. I curled my small, wolfish body inside, tears streaming as my heart pounded erratically and frantically. Lifting my snout to the sky, I inhaled deeply, taking in the surrounding scents, and cried out to the goddess:
“Please, my Moon, I beg you, grant me a quick death with little pain… I can’t take this anymore!”
“Run to your destiny, my child,” the breeze whispered, brushing against my face and carrying a woody aroma laced with the freshness of dew. “Go… follow.”
“Destiny?” I murmured, just as I heard his growl.
“I can smell your repugnant scent; you cursed spawn of hell.” Hunter roared, his heavy paw steps shaking the ground beneath him. “Today, you’ll join your mother—that worthless wolf who couldn’t even produce a pup worthy of an Alpha!”
“Damn you!” I growled in anger, forcing myself to run again.
The breeze against my face grew stronger, and with every path I considered, the intensity of the wind pulled me in another direction. But his footsteps echoed closer and closer until I felt his overwhelming presence over my body, his weight pressing down on my back.
Hunter had found me. He leapt onto me, biting down hard. I groaned in agony as the pain surged through me, my body crashing face-first into the ground. Amused, the Alpha ground my snout into the cold forest dirt, reveling in my suffering.
“You piece of trash, I hate you so much. I should’ve killed you the moment you were born!” he roared, his voice seething with fury. “Since the day you came into this world, you’ve brought nothing but disgrace to this pack. I’ll correct that mistake by ridding us of you slowly.”
Grabbing my paws, the Lycan king broke them in half. I writhed in despair, groaning in unbearable pain.
“Father, please.” I begged, my voice trembling. “Just kill me!”
“Shut up, you inferior creature,” he growled. His powerful fist struck my face, dislocating my jaw, leaving me unable to speak or even growl.
His claws dug deeper into my flesh, ripping at my sides. My strength ebbed away with the thick red liquid soaking into my fur. His attacks no longer registered—I was numb to the pain, and I could feel the end drawing near.
“Useless prey. You can’t even last long enough to resist,” he spat. I felt something warm pour over my body, the acrid stench of urine burning against my open wounds.
“Now die!”
I gasped as powerful blows pummeled my skull, pressing it into the forest floor. In my darkness, blind and deprived of sight, I silently thanked the Goddess for sparing me the vision of my life being taken by the one who should have protected me as both a wolf and a father.
POV: CALLIE“Get up and run.” Another gust of wind surged around me, carrying the voice of the deity in my mind.“I can’t… I can’t take it anymore,” I responded silently.“GET UP!” The wind intensified into a whirlwind, the powerful gust pushing Hunter off me.I began to crawl deeper into the forest in a desperate attempt to please the Moon Goddess before my death, hoping to have my soul forgiven for whatever I might have done.“You’re not escaping, prey!” the Alpha roared, sinking his claws into my hind legs.I whimpered, growling, and kept trying to drag myself forward, leaving a trail of blood and tears, until I hit something with my head. Sniffing, I realized the scent that had been guiding me was now directly in front of me. Its aroma is mixed with something predatory and lethal. I trembled even more. Was this another predator come to toy with my life? The ground trembled beneath its power, and even the very pressure in the air shifted. The aura emanating from it, though unseen,
POV: CALLIE“Did he suffer?” I responded quickly and firmly, hoping that Bastard had endured the worst pain imaginable.“I'm known for my ruthlessness, Wolf... Didn’t you hear your father’s desperate screams?” I caught a faint trace of amusement in the mysterious wolf’s voice.“What I heard was nothing compared to what that monster did to me. He wasn’t my father!” I growled, anger boiling within me. My strength waned, and I collapsed to the ground, but not before asking again, needing to know: “Did he suffer?”“Magnificently so!” The air shifted, and I sniffed, sensing that he crouched in front of me. “Now, what should I do with you?”“Kill her, my king! A blind wolf is of no use to our pack. We don’t need dead weight!” The repulsive scent of another wolf caught my attention, drawing my focus in his direction.“Silence, Beta!” The werewolf’s commanding voice was terrifying, so much so that even my inner wolf wanted to bow in respect and fear. “Now, where were we?”“Black Wolf, your be
POV: AARONI laughed darkly, plunging my hands into his abdomen and tearing through his entrails. Driven by sheer hatred, the wretched wolf crawled toward the injured creature on the ground, gripping her shoulders and blaming her for all his curses. A true coward.I stopped behind him, predatory, my eyes locking onto the wolves, who I now realized were blind. The rumors were true—this wolf was despicable and revolting. Pulling my claws from his stomach, I drove them through his chest, ripping out his still-beating heart. I squeezed it tighter and tighter until its rhythm slowed and the organ burst in my hands. Hunter collapsed, his body sliding off the fragile wolves and crumbling at her feet. The image, though blurred, took shape in the darkness. My mind returned to the present, and I found myself staring in surprise at the wolves I had supported in my lupine arms.“What was that?” I whispered, astonished, realizing there was more to this creature than her apparent weakness and blind
POV: CALLIE“I am Ryan, little wolf,” he said, his voice smooth and genuine, a rare quality among scents. Only in my mother and Orion had I sensed such aromas.I blacked out completely, finding myself in front of a stream with crystal-clear waters where carp leaped, trying to ascend a violent waterfall.“Look at that. Despite the water’s overwhelming strength and the current dictating their paths, the carp persist, fighting against it in search of their own destinies,” an angelic voice echoed behind me.I turned, surprised to find no one there. I returned my gaze to the water, startled by the reflection. Scenes unfolded, revealing the image of a man with an aura of power and beauty. He had striking features and an impressive physique. His chiseled jawline and expressive eyes radiated determination and intensity. His hair, perhaps dark and thick, fell in controlled wildness over his forehead, adding an air of mystery and rebellion. His physique was imposing, with well-defined muscles t
POV: AARONA whisper from afar caught my attention, pulling my focus to a specific spot in the room during a meeting with my subordinates, where we were drafting a plan to attack the other packs. I felt eyes on me—fear, uncertainty, and a desperate need for protection hung heavy in the air. My wolf roared in my chest, tearing at me with an impulsive instinct to run to the blind wolf and stay by her side.“Lycan King?” the Beta called, glancing toward the point where my gaze was fixed. “Is everything alright?”I growled, making the table tremble, and all the wolves shrink back, lowering their heads.“Draft a solid plan. Present your reasons for attacking this pack—I’m not convinced about this one,” I said, pointing to the map, feeling my wolf's warning grow louder.“Where are you going, my king?” Jaxon asked.I roared, forcing him to take a few steps back and crouch in his human form in reverence.“Forgive me, my king,” he whispered through clenched teeth.I strode out of the room, and
POV: AARON“Come, wolf, we’re going for a walk!” I motioned to the doctor, who removed her IV lines. I picked her up, and she shifted nervously in my arms. Furthermore, I noticed her ears swiveling in various directions, along with her nose sniffing constantly. Perhaps this was her unique way of seeing through other senses.“Are you going to kill me?” she whispered, trembling.“If I were, what would you do?” I replied curtly, studying her reactions.“I would smile at my fate, but not before begging you to make it quick, almost painless,” she said, surprising me. Her nose brushed against my neck, sending shockwaves through my entire body.“What is your name, Wolf?”“My name?” She raised her head, her fur brushing against my nose, making it itch. I shifted, and she seemed to notice, lowering her head again. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to bother you.”“You have a name, don’t you? Or should I call you ‘blind one’? ‘Fool’? ‘Wolf’?” I growled impatiently. “Stop apologizing—it’s irritating!”“Sorr
POV: CALLIEI considered running. I knew the area well, and that was my advantage. Years of being hunted like prey had sharpened my survival instincts. My sense of smell was my sight, and I remembered the scent of every tree in that forest. My mother was a wise wolf, one Hunter had captured from another city. I didn’t know exactly which pack she had belonged to. During one of my father’s fits of rage, after he tore into my flesh during a hunt and threw me against a rock, I heard him roar:“I thought with Lyra’s rare bloodline, I’d have strong descendants, but no! The goddess decided to punish us and curse us because of you. The disgrace of the pack!” he bellowed, tearing a piece of skin from my belly with his fangs.“I don’t know if you’re daydreaming or plotting an escape.” Aaron’s voice pulled me back to the present.“I.” I murmured, swallowing the lump in my throat, unsure how much I should say. “I can’t explain how I did that. I just know you shouldn’t go there if you value your l
POV: CALLIE“If you want to survive, blind wolf, you’ll have to learn to shift, or I’ll hurt you until you do!” Kemilly spat maliciously. “It’ll be my pleasure to rid this world of the dead weight you represent.”My heart raced, pounding intensely, as I trembled uncontrollably, fully aware that her threats were far from empty. I felt a sharp pressure in my stomach, as if I’d been kicked and slammed hard against the wall. Letting out a desperate growl, I gasped for air, trying to lift myself up.“Get up, wolf! Shift!” the enraged wolf roared. “I can do this all day.”“I don’t know how.” I whispered, feeling my head being yanked up by my fur. “Please… it hurts!”“We’re just getting started, you disgusting creature,” Kemilly sneered with a laugh. “Why would the Alpha make me, his future Luna, waste time on something as insignificant as you?”Oddly, the mention of “future Luna” hurt more than the physical wounds themselves. I growled at her threateningly, my anger flaring.“Oh, you don’t
POV: CALLIE“Are you afraid of him?” Yulli pulled me out of my trance, snapping her fingers to get my attention.“Are you?” I countered, hesitant.“Smart girl!” the witch laughed. “I’m afraid he might lose control of his powers, but overall, Aaron is a good friend. Now it’s your turn.”“I’m afraid of being hurt more than I already have been. I’m not talking about physical pain—those scars heal.” I murmured, gently stroking my belly, uncomfortable with how still Rigan was. “He’s so quiet.”“He’s a clever pup. He knows you need rest,” Yulli said, tapping the tip of my nose, sinking into the right side of the bed. Her hands settled over mine, warming them with her magic. “Just to be sure.”“Thank you.” I gave a soft smile, grate
POV: AARONCallie was clearly unsettled by the doctor’s recommendations. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly amused by the situation, but I knew the weight of it would fall on me. Resisting the pull of a bond that strong was an intense challenge, but I had already hurt her once—and I wouldn’t break my promise not to hurt her again.“When will she be discharged?” I asked the doctor, who kept glancing at the witch sometimes with admiration.“If everything continues to go well, by the end of the day,” he explained, straightening his posture.“That soon?” Callie asked, worried, as she caressed her belly. “I almost lost my baby. Wouldn’t it be safer to stay under observation a little longer? Of course, if the Lycan King allows it.”“Little wolf, all of my resources are yours,” I said, keeping my eye
POV: CALLIE“It’s okay. This is nothing compared to what I’ve been through these past few years,” I said softly. The Lycan seemed irritated by the comment; his scent shifted, becoming more tense.“Alpha, are you alright?”“Yes!” he answered quickly. When the loud sound of my baby’s heartbeat filled the room through the ultrasound, it was a deeply emotional and unique experience. The rhythm was fast and steady, like the gallop of a horse—constant and strong. I could almost see tiny feet running joyfully across an open field—at least, that’s what I hoped to witness when my little king Rigan was born.I noticed the Alpha’s scent shift in subtle waves. There was clear conflict in it, but something more… was he moved? My wolf growled faintly in the back of my mind, as if that moment had stirred her. The Lycan’s wolf responded instantly; Aaron’s eyes now seemed to rest on my skin, burning wherever they landed.“What a beautiful sound,” Aaron murmured. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard a baby’s
POV: CALLIEI woke up in my darkness with my body aching even more than before. The sterile hospital smell of alcohol and medication churned my stomach, while my head throbbed painfully. What had happened? My mind was flooded with memories. I had been with the Alpha in my dreams—that fear, all that blood, my wolf—but I couldn’t find her anywhere. The pain dragged me back into consciousness, and the guttural sound told me we were losing my baby.“Rigan!” I cried out, placing my hand over my belly, unable to lift my body properly.A hand pressed down on my shoulders, keeping me in place. I sniffed toward the source, instantly recognizing the unmistakable woody scent that now saturated the room—his presence expanding protectively around me.“Don’t try to sit up. You just had surgery, little wolf,” Aaron whispered, adjusting me gently. “You scared the hell out of me. Not many wolves can do that to me.”“What happened?” I kept my hands firmly over my stomach, terrified that if I let go, my
POV: AARONI woke up with my eyes wide, fierce, devouring the sterile white room. I ripped the IV out with a sharp tug, feeling a stinging discomfort in my arm.The nurse burst through the door, her eyes widening in horror when she saw me, rushing into the room.“Lycan King, please! You need to rest—you’re still severely injured,” she said, alarmed, as she prepared to treat the puncture site. But when she noticed it had already healed, her face twisted in confusion and shock.“Where is Callie?” I growled threateningly, my imposing figure casting a shadow over the small, trembling nurse.“She… she’s in surgery,” the woman stammered nervously.“What happened? Why does she need surgery?” My eyes narrowed, an intense aura of pressure radiating from me.“Alpha, please control you
POV: DANTE“It was close… That damned bastard.” I leaned against the tree, my body trembling with pain as I punched it hard, my other hand pressing against my open stomach. Every touch felt like a blade slicing through me, my fingers nearly brushing against my own organs.“I will hunt them down, one by one, until the last drop of their blood is spilled. That blind she-wolf—I’ll turn her into a puppet of agony, rip her pup from her belly, and make her drown in her own misery. That arrogant Alpha—I’ll destroy him, devouring his flesh while his soul turns to dust. I will dive into the deepest pits of darkness to bring hell upon those who dared to defy me.”“Oh, really? And how exactly do you plan to do that when you’re already dead?”A feminine voice echoed between the trees, her laughter ringing like a twisted chant as her silhouette emerged fr
POV: AARONI hadn’t realized my human form was just as agile as my Lupine one; perhaps it was due to training in both forms. It took some time before we finally reached the city. Yulli motioned for me to go ahead while she struggled to catch her breath. As I entered the hospital, I let out a deep growl, drawing the attention of a doctor who appeared with a furrowed brow, his gaze shifting from the small unconscious wolf in my arms to the blood dripping onto the floor.“What happened?” He approached quickly. “Bring a stretcher here—now!”I gently laid her on the stretcher the nurses had rushed over, brushing her beautiful black hair away from her face. Even in unconsciousness, Callie’s brows were creased in pain.“I released too much power… I don’t know exactly what happened.” I sighed, defeated. “She’s…&rdquo
POV: CALLIEThe ground trembled under the slow, uneven steps of the Lycan King. He didn’t seem able to walk in a straight line toward me, as if he were staggering with each step. The metallic stench of rust thickened the air, making my stomach churn with nausea. I took a deep breath, fighting against the wave of sickness threatening to consume me.Yulli lay unconscious at my feet, her body radiating heat against my skin. The Alpha’s immense power had taken a heavy toll on us. A warm liquid trickled down my legs. When I touched the area, rubbing my fingers together, I felt the thickness of the fluid. Bringing it closer to my nose, I realized—it was blood. My inner wolf had been eerily silent since the battle in the deep sea; her once-rapid recovery now seemed impossible. Sharp pangs radiated from my womb, and my instincts screamed that something was terribly wrong.“Callie… Did I hurt
POV: AARONI woke up sniffing the air, sharpening my senses to assess how many wolves surrounded us. Unlike the previous attacks, there was one with a stronger scent, more intense—it seemed to be more powerful. I nudged Yulli, the witch, with my paw as she slept lazily, while Callie was already awake but remained still, waiting for me to assess the situation.“Yulli?” I growled, waking her.“What is it? Let me sleep a little longer…” She mumbled, but then I saw her tense as she sensed the dark magic. “Dante is here!”“Is he now?” I grinned between my fangs, sadistic. “Stay behind me.”“We can fight.” Callie protested, earning a deep growl from me.“I said stay behind me. Yulli, protect her if I have to step away!” I ordered, glancing over my broad, fur-covered shoulders.
