VIVIAN POV

"All that happened and you still stayed in the mansion?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

I shook my head in disagreement. "I called off the wedding and left but suddenly Grandfather died and I was invited, it all happened fast and grandfather gave everything to me," I said, the words feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

Mrs. Isabella's eyes went wide with shock, and she leaned back in her chair, her face pale with frustration. "Oh my goodness," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.

I could see the pain and sadness in her eyes, and I knew that she was feeling my pain. She was feeling the weight of Kian’s heartache, a feeling a mother would to his son

"Why did you stay?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

I took a deep breath, trying to find the words to explain. "I don't know," I said finally. "I guess I just didn't know what else to do, I love Kian after all and I couldn’t bare to leave him like that."
