VIVIAN POV

I slowly walked around the mansion, my footsteps echoing off the empty halls. All the maids were out in the garden, enjoying the warm sunshine, and nobody was inside. I had the perfect opportunity to snoop around.

Annie, my loyal girl, signaled me to do whatever I wanted to do. I nodded, and she discreetly followed me.

I walked around, trying to find the only one room that was locked. But every door I approached was locked I frowned, confusion etched on my face.

I waved at Annie to come help me, and she rushed over quickly. "Don't let your footsteps sound," I warned, my voice barely above a whisper.

Annie nodded, her eyes wide with understanding. We slowly walked towards each other, trying not to make a sound.

"Some of the rooms here are locked," I said, my voice low. "Why are they locked?"

Annie shook her head. "They shouldn't be locked, all these rooms weren’t locked before. Why are they all locked all of a sudden?"
