Chapter 70

Martha's gaze fell away, her eyes clouding over with a mixture of sadness and despair. "I am dying already," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Why should I care about anybody's life?"

The doctor felt a lump form in his throat as he looked at Martha, her once beautiful face now gaunt and pale. He saw the pain and suffering etched on her face, and his heart went out to her.

"Martha, don't say that," he said, his voice cracking with emotion. "You still have so much to live for, you can still change everything."

Martha's gaze snapped back to his, her eyes flashing with anger. "What do I have to live for?" she spat. "My husband is dead, I killed him with my own hands, i killed grandfather Edward who accepted me into his home with a warm heart, Kian isn’t my real son, I can not bear a child. I have nothing left except for the money in the hidden room, and now I am dying how would I spend such a huge money."
