Anastasia's POV.I glared at the trio. If they were going to cause trouble with me again, I was simply ready to bolt. I could easily turn back to where I was coming from.“You better stop seeing the Alpha to gain favours!” The redhead said in a grave tone.I eyed her with disdain, “I’m not seeing the Alpha!” I said in a low growl but they are all but scared. Our eyes locked in a glaring combat. The tension in the air was rising. I caught the redhead’s hand fisting while the fat one was dipping her hand into her apron.Just then, several maids walked through the corridor that we were in. It seemed they were going to a singular place as they just kept coming through.I used this chance and walked among the other maids. The medium sized one grabbed my fist, glaring down at me. “Don't think you're free in this castle. You better watch your back.” She said threateningly before throwing my hand.I said nothing as I returned to the infirmary.A pungent spicy smell greeted me as soon as I ste
Anastasia's POV. I was made to fight the urge to run through the hallway, up the stairs to the Alpha's chambers. The stares were just too much! I thought my stay at the infirmary would make their curiosity of me die down but right now, it only seemed to increase it. I heaved a sigh of relief once I walked out of the hallway towards the stairs. The amount of servants had reduced significantly and I quickly ascended the stairs. My heart raced as I got nearer and nearer to the Alpha's chambers. What did he want to see me for? I know I haven't gotten a chance to thank him for his help and support for me but I wanted that to be on my terms and not for me being called unexpectedly. I fiddled with my fingers as I stood a few feet away from his door, glancing at the bulky High guard that stood at the entrance of the room. Gaining some courage, I moved towards the guard. “The Alpha called for me.” I told him. He didn't respond, instead, his eyes wandered before him and I knew he was
Anastasia's POV.Murmurs filled my ears as consciousness slowly greeted me. I groaned as my eyes parted slowly.“Does she always have to faint?”“I'm just as confused as you are, friend.”“And I thought they said she was a werewolf?”“Probably just a weakling omega. Heard those ones are very useless and even weaker than humans.”A round of laughter was what made my eyes snap open fully. I stood up immediately. My gaze landed on the group of older healers sitting around a table just a few feets away from me. They all stared at me, silent like they had seen a ghost.I ignored them, turning my attention to what brought me to this position. Oh, I remember!Mama Buella! I slid off the mat, ignoring the pain that shut through the back of my head. I headed for the place I knew was where Mama Buella’s mat always is. But upon reaching there, there was only a mat, no old ill lady. Sadness struck me from within.I headed for the healers’ quarters in the infirmary; where the healers have their ow
Anastasia's POV.I looked up into his eyes, almost getting lost in them. My breath hitched as his words echoed in my head. It felt like I needed more air in my lungs, my chest felt compressed.“I'm attracted to you.” His words replayed in my mind and I flinched.I gulped, not knowing what to say. The way he was so close to me and staring directly into my eyes wasn't helping either.“I…I…ah…what?” That was the only word I could mutter. I wanted to slap myself for that, I heard him alright.“You heard me. I don't know why but I can't just stop thinking about you. I’ve never felt like this before.” He said again, with more confidence that made my face heat up.I pinched the hem of my clothes, wishing the ground would just open up and swallow me whole. “I…wow!” I remarked, that being the only thing I could think of. I chuckled nervously. I could feel my face burning up.He cracked a smile and for a moment, I thought I was looking at a god. Why did he look so gorgeous? His blond hair and h
Anastasia's POV.“What in the Moon?” Ginny and I exclaimed together as we stared wide eyed at the mess before us.My sleeping mat, and the places around it were filled with words. Words written with ink and paint scattered all over the place. I got nearer, trying to read some of the words.“WHORE!”“ALPHA FUCKER!” “HARLOT!”Those were the words that were written there and some others. I looked at Ginny and she also had a horrified expression on.“Those crazy cowards!” I growled, my brows furrowing as I swelled with anger.I avoided the paint as I went over to the other side of the mat. It was totally messed up. I bent down and used a finger to pick the paint. It cleaned off on my hand which means it could still be washed off.“We have to wash it quickly.” As if reading my mind, Ginny said. I nodded and stood up.“We’ll need a lot of water and soap for this” I remarked while standing next to Ginny again.“I've got some bar soap to spare. Let's go fetch the water.” She said, Together w
Mathias’ POV.I brushed my hair with my hand as soon as she left the chamber. I released a long breath as I slumped into my sofa. Goddess, what did I just do?Did I really just confess my feelings to her? What in the Moon was I thinking? I wanted to reprimand myself and regret my actions but remembering the look on her face when I said it, I found joy.She didn't look disapproving or somewhat. The way her cheeks flushed when I closed in on her. Her beautiful rosy scent had filled my nostrils, clouding my senses. It was like an intoxicating wine which gave me the boldness to continue speaking with her. Or was it just the Alpha boldness that I possessed naturally? It should be the latter, although I couldn't still deny the strong effect her scent had on me.I remembered the way her beautiful hazel eyes had twinkled while she looked back into my eyes. It was like a whole new world there.I had ignored the way servants killed each other before. I hadn't paid much attention to the payment
Anastasia's POV.“This is absolutely ridiculous!” I remarked in annoyance as I wiped the floor with the wet rag. I was fueled by anger and it was evident in my hand movement.“No it's not, it's just so unfair and sheer wickedness!” Ginny grumbled, furiously moving away some chairs so she washed that part of the floor.I sighed as I paused my work. We have been cleaning this accursed hall for almost…I didn't even know how long. I have been so consumed with rage to notice how much time has passed.Glancing over at the mechanical hourglass across the hall– it's late evening. The hourglass had a unique feature that made people know how much time has passed even if you weren't monitoring before.“Yeah, we have crossed our working hours.” Ginny remarked, also looking at the hourglass.“What should we do?” I asked as it was now clear that we couldn't continue with this work if we planned on sleeping tonight.Ginny sighed deeply, “The only thing I am thinking of may get us in some big trouble
Anastasia's POV.“Let's go check it out!” I said and bolted down the narrowest corridor.“Wait…” I heard Ginny calling but I ignored her and went down the dimly lit corridor. The same place I had been cornered by the three women.Immediately the scene of a lady crouched in a corner and a man standing before came to my view, I halted. The lady was whimpering and the man was grinning widely. He spread his hand to her, “Give me the coins and I might spare your body.” He said in his cranky voice. His actions immediately irritated me. What a shameless low-life, stealing coins from a helpless lady.“Leave her alone!” I said before I knew what I said. But there was no form of regret in my actions.I stepped forward, closer to the scene. I heard footsteps behind me and Ginny's scent wafted my nostrils.“What are you doing?” She asked breathlessly. I ignored her.“Mind your own business, Alpha fucker!” The man snarled.A smirk played on my own lips. “You should be ashamed of stealing from a he
