ELYSIA'S POV

The tension in the palace kept increasing by the moment, sending panic waves and casting a shadow of uncertainty all over the palace. Everybody could feel it, even the maids and the guards were not left out.

Asher had gone out on a search party to search for Serafina, while I stayed indoors all day because the solemn faces of everybody around the palace just managed to remind me of the tragedy going on in the pack. It was not like staying indoors helped much anyway, while I was inside, everything I could think of was Serafina. The images of her standing right outside the window of my room that night remained embedded in my mind and I could not help but wonder why and how she is so powerful.

I had wanted to go with Asher in search of her but he had adamantly refused. I didn't bother pushing further because I knew he only wanted to keep me safe. If Serafina was that dangerous, then I should not be anywhere near her.
