DANTE
Dante's days were getting longer and each day that passed. He was barely able to have a good night's sleep before waking up in sweats and horror, unconscious of his surroundings. He was getting tired of it and taking Maria's advice suddenly didn't seem like a very bad idea. He was at the pack meeting, but he was barely concentrating on what the pack's committee was saying because of his lack of sleep in him. He caught himself dozing off a few times since the meeting started, which confused both his Beta and the rest of the committee because they knew Alpha Dante never showed a weak side. Even when he was sick, he would rather stay back in the palace than come down to the meeting and show a sign of weakness like sleep. "Alpha Brain," Beta Louis, who was closest to him touched his arm which jerked him up from his reverie. He brought his hand up to his forehead and massaged it before he turned to look at him. "What is it, Louis?" He asked. Beta Louis looked at him in shock. Ever since he was titled the Beta, he had never called him that in front of the committee, only a few times when they were alone. That convinced him that was something wrong with their Alpha and he was going to take the chance if need be to destroy him because of it. "We were just discussing, we are to go on the annual hunt next week." Beta Louis gave him a little smile. Alpha Dante scoffed before he shook his head. He had to come up with an excuse, or else he would get himself killed at the hunting ground because his mind was nowhere close to him and the usually hunted bigger animals that "I would like to cancel this year's hunt. The pack is going modern after all, it is high time we let go of this dangerous behavior." He blurted out of the blue, earning murmurs from the crowd. One of the committee members stood up angrily, but also with implicit respect because he knew better than to make the Alpha angry, "Don't do this to us, Alpha Dante, this has been our longest pack tradition and if we lose it we may not find something worth showing to our kids in the nearby future." He complained with his eyes casted low. Alpha Dante didn't take a moment to think before he replied, "I said we are not doing it, at least not this year. This meeting is over." He got up from his seat and headed towards the door. Beta Louis looked at the dissatisfied looks on their faces and smirked. Even though they were not living in a democratic setting, he knew if he was to put to a vote who the committee wanted at the moment to lead them, it would be someone far from Alpha Dante. If he didn't use this chance to get the throne from him, the chance might never come. He stood up and followed Alpha Dante, who was already halfway to the palace with his bodyguards strolling firmly behind him. Beta Louis increased his pace to catch up on them and before he could, there were already at the palace and Alpha Dante was going in. "Alpha Brain," Beta Louis called out. "What is up with you?" He panted as he proceeded to the fridge and brought out a bottle of water which he gulped down in a single swig. "Pass me one of those too Louis." He ignored his question. Beta Louis did as he was told before he sat down on the sofa opposite the Alphas. "Tell me what that was about?" He raised a brow, "I told you, they are dangerous practices and shouldn't be practiced anymore." He sighed. If he didn't trust his sanity when he was in human form, he was far away from trusting it when he was in his wolf form. "The people are already criticizing us for attempting to humanize them," he shook his head. "Then tell me, why were you dozing off during the pack meeting?" He leaned back as he crossed his hands over his chair after keeping the water bottle on the black center table that was in the middle of them. Alpha Dante looked everywhere but his Beta's face in restlessness, but when he realized he had to let it out because he wasn't leaving without the answer, he opened his mouth to speak. "I am not feeling very well Louis.' He sighed again, leaning back in his chair. He wanted a drink so bad but he promised to have a healthy three-week break before he had a drink again because of safety reasons, which was what all the preceding leaders had to go through. "What is wrong with you? You can discuss anything with me." He mustered up a supportive look. "I have been having this feeling of restlessness around me. I can't sleep or even concentrate, my life has been feeling incomplete ever since it started." Alpha Dante explained, even though that wasn't what he did on a normal basis. He liked to keep a lot of himself. Beta Louis gave him a knowing look, "You know what that means B. You need to release all that pent-up stress, you didn't promise anyone celibacy, did you?" He held himself back from rolling his eyes and scoffed, "I have tried that just recently, came back to me like a painful boomerang." "Shit." Beta Louis shook his head sympathetically. "But I do think I have a solution, Maria actually advised me to do it." "You will do whatever it goddamn takes to escape this turmoil B." He sighed, "She wants me to leave the pack in a quest for my mate since I haven't found one here." He explained, in a tone that clearly showed how unconvinced he was about the idea. Louis almost jumped from the sentence. His heart filled with so much happiness that he resisted the urge to squeal like a little girl, but he kept his cool to avoid looking suspicious. "I support that idea too, Alpha Dante." He mumbled. "I don't want to leave my pack because of personal selfish reasons Louis. It would be unfair if father was in my position he would never do so to his pack." "Your father has never been in this situation, and you are just doing the best trying to do what is best for the pack because you cannot continue making your pack as successful as it is without being in the right headspace." "Really Louis? Who would I leave the pack to then?" Beta Louis rose a brow in response to the question. The answer was rhetorical, if the Alpha ever needed to leave the pack for any reason, the Beta is supposed to step in his shoes and take over. "You think I can't handle it B?" He shook his head, "I am not saying that, just that you are not ready for this. You've just been new to the whole thing and from what I have seen, you make a lot of impulsive decisions." He stood up angrily, "How dare you?" Alpha Dante shook his head, because he just proved him right a second after he just made the statement. "This is exactly it Louis. We are done with this talk, I would rather give Uncle Charles this than to give you honestly." Beta Louis felt his mind ease. If he was going to give it to Charles, then he might as well have just given it to him because his father would hand off the title to him as soon as they assassinate him. An idea suddenly popped into his head, and he knew he had to share it with his father. "Alright then. Do what you please Alpha Dante." He stood up and left. ~ Beta Louis met his father in his chambers taking a drink. The sitting was dirty and required a lot of cleaning, but that wasn't the thing that was in his head at the moment. He just found out how to get rid of the Alpha for good, which he was sure his father would be very happy to hear. "Father!" He called out as he ambled into the room, dodging all the furniture that were scattered all over the place. "What is it son?" He rose his head up, his eyes red from too much booze. "I think I might have just found a way to make our little idea happen, Alpha Dante is travelling and leaving the pack for you. I want us to kill him on his way there." He shook his head, "Are you crazy? He is probably going with an army of Omegas for safety." "Dante always wanted a relationship that wasn't induced by his power father, I am sure he would not want to go with his bodyguards." Charles thought about it for a while, before he smiled realizing his son was right. He leaned forward and grabbed a clean cup, then poured his whiskey into it and handed it to his son. "To assassinate Alpha Dante." He rose his cup up for a toast. Beta Louis grinned before he toasted too, "To assassinating Alpha Dante."LEAH We got to the palace late at night. The doors to the palace were closed, the Omegas were back at their log cabins but the bodyguards still stood, the night shifters who I’m sure came in just a few minutes ago. I was sure Alpha Robert was in our room, trying to get some sleep after a long day. I’m sure he hadn’t fallen asleep because I could peek at some light right from the threshold of the palace. “You should get my clothes upstairs,” I told my maid as I stepped into the house. The bodyguards were surprised to see me, but they greeted me nevertheless and welcomed me back. “Okay, ma.” She nodded before she headed upstairs to my room where I kept some of my stuff. Alpha Robert didn’t allow any Omega into our room because of reasons unknown to me, but I knew it had to do with his mother. She was that way towards the Omegas too, even though Robert was softer than she was to them. I headed towards the fridge that just had its position changed recently. We always did
DANTE Alpha Dante toasted a cup to his uncle with a smile on his face as they went down the memory lane. He laughed as his uncle reminded him of all the goofy things he had done when he was young, all the sacrifices he made for the pack and all his parents did for love. He convinced him that no matter what, love always came first for the wolves in their pack. His father may not have done worse when it came to love but he knew if he was in that situation, he would do it without thinking twice. It was a day before Alpha Dante left the Aurora pack to the Tick moon pack with nothing but a carry-on of his clothes and money. He was going to make a brand new life in the neighboring pack since he had never shown his face, or had a meeting with anyone from the pack. Whatever relationship the both of them had come as a result of the pack members, and barely ever from the pack Alphas. “You have always been successful Dante, it wouldn’t be any different this time. I promise.” He placed
LEAH Five years of devotion, five years of pain, five years of endless surgeries and this is how he repays me? My husband was coming into the house with his hand around another woman’s waist as he kissed her. She is young and beautiful, and I could swear I have seen her in some magazines. She was everything I was not. Slim, with gorgeous blonde hair and pale white skin. While I had sacrificed all of my inheritance to my husband so he could build his pack. I had undergone so many surgeries so that I could give him an heir, and now I was overweight due to all of the stress. I had sacrificed everything for Darren Strong and this is how he repays me? My mother in law was walking beside him with a smirk as they came in through the front door. Darren had been gone for a while to a conference with the lycan king. The last thing I expected was for him to come back with another woman. I overheard them speaking. “I signed the contract,” he told his mother excitedly. “We are going to get t
LEAH “A divorce?” She laughed, and my hands itched me to not slap her across the face again. “Yes, a divorce.” My voice shook. I always had hope that perhaps Darren was going to see how much I liked him and he was going to fall in love with me. I did everything for him so he could like me back, but with his mother whispering in his ear, he did not. I never in my wildest dreams thought he was going to do me this dirty. I knew he might never feel the way I felt for him, but I thought he respected me. I blinked back the tears that were threatening to drop because I did not want her to see me cry. None of them were worth my tears. “Who do you think is going to marry you?” She raised a brow. “You are fat, ugly and barren. You do not have an inheritance to lure any alpha to marry you. Do you want to live as a rogue?” “I am not going to live as a rogue.” I hissed. To be frank, I did not know what I was going to do. I did not have anyone else left to help me, but I also kn
LEAH I got a free ride from Darren’s pack to the lycan king’s pack, which took about two hours. A couple had taken pity on me when they saw that I couldn’t even walk well, and they offered to take me to my destination. “Thank you so much.” I thanked them as I alighted from the car and got into the palace. Before my parents died, they had told me so many stories about the lycan king’s palace. They had promised me that we were going to go some time, but unfortunately, we did not get to before they died. Or brutally murdered, rather. I swallowed hard as I remembered them, but put it at the back of my head. I needed to get what I came here for first. I went over to the gate where I assumed that I had to submit my name. There was quite a line there which made me feel a little bit less alone. Thank Goodness I was not the only one going through the pain of divorce. Most people were here in twos, but my husband literally kicked me out. Fuck him, fuck the palace, and most of all fuck
LEAHI stood there completely frozen as I looked at him. Even if something in me was fighting to believe it was true, I couldn't. I knew my mother-in-law hated me, but she couldn't kill me, right?“I… I'm sorry. I doubt that's possible. I would have died.”“Are you saying I'm lying?”My heart slammed against my chest as fear laced through every fiber of my bones. I couldn't make him angry. His reputation was bad enough, I couldn't let him see me as a problem, or I'd just get killed, which was something I was not ready for.“... Sit down, Leah.”Were the stories about him true? Was he trying to cover his true face?I didn't know what in the world was happening, but I didn't like it. I sat down quietly while his eyes burned holes into my forehead. I refused to look up at him. I hated that I could barely concentrate while he was watching me. But why would he choose to marry me of all people?“You aren't impotent? If you want a doctor's report, then Gareth will take you there now.”I furr
LEAHI immediately moved when I realized he wasn't on the couch. When the lights came on, I saw him sitting in that same corner, like a predator watching its prey. For some reason, I let out a sigh of relief when I should have been running for my life.“What's wrong?” I asked, sitting on the ground where I had jumped to. He continued to look at me.“You've been restless the entire night. Tell me something I don't know about you.” His voice was so calm that it seemed impossible it belonged to the same person who had been glaring at me earlier.“There's nothing that I'm willing to share.” He looked at me carefully before walking up to me. Though I feared what he was about to do, I remained still.“When I said I wanted to sleep with you, I didn't mean it in the vulgar way.” He picked me up from the floor, and the impact of his skin against mine sent a tingle down my spine.I refused to speak, so I wouldn't make a fool of myself.“Lay down and sleep quietly. Nothing is going to happen if
LEAHChills ran down my spine at his words, but I kept quiet, knowing he might do something to me. Still, my curiosity was beyond measure.“Sorry for speaking of it,” I apologized and walked out of the room before he had a chance to say anything. But I needed to find out what happened to them. As much as it wasn’t my business, I would rather not end up dead.I walked down the hallway, ignoring the looks I was getting from everyone. For reasons unknown to me, they were pitying me.“Do you think she’ll end up like the last?” I heard someone whisper as I walked, making me pause immediately. Kiara might not know what happened to them, but the servants seemed to.“Who said that?” They all went quiet and stood straight, but I didn’t move. “... As your queen, I demand whoever said that to step out, now!” A wave of authority surged through me, something I had never felt before. I didn’t mean to speak that way, but the title did bring benefits.A young maid stepped out, and I looked at her wit

LEAH The next few days at my home were the best. I loved how I was being treated by Alpha Robert, which was strange compared to who he was a few days ago. It was quite surprising for a man that had that sort of tantrum to turn out to be all forgiving and loving in the next second. I was surprised but I knew I had to enjoy it while it lasted. “Are you done dressing up my queen?” He asked, planting a subtle kiss on my cheek and hugging me from behind. My body radiated with heat as thoughts of last night came rushing into my mind. I loved having sex with him, but I knew deep in my heart he wasn’t the one I wanted to be with. He was not my mate, he was my sister’s. It felt wrong letting him fuck me with every chance he got after I came back, even though I knew it had a lot to do with Paula. “Yes.” I nodded, a fake smile appearing on my lips as I tied my hair into my usual hairstyle. I decided to change my choice of clothing today because Alpha Robert’s mother would be here to ta
RACHEL A sharp scream evaded my throat as I got to my chamber and found the lock broken and droplets of blood at the threshold of my house. I was too slow and had gotten there way before Alpha Robert did, and I could see he had succeeded in breaking the locks of my house with his hands which only meant that his wolf side was beginning to show, and it only happens when he is extremely angry. I pushed the door open and rushed to my room where I could hear a little bit of whisper coming from it. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as I prepared myself to see the worst before I opened the room, and what I saw there made my fear rise a notch. My room was completely scattered, my furniture broken and my walls scarred with punch marks. I brought my hand up to my mouth and covered it in shock as I analyzed the damage Alpha Robert did to my room before anger started to sear through my veins. But this wasn't the time to be angry, especially because of what I did to him. I didn't k
DANTE Alpha Dante tried to get the thought of what Maria told him out of his head. He used his usual tricks of making himself forget what was going on- like burying himself in work or going out hunting during the full moon when he transformed but all that didn’t work. He was still stuck in his sad little bubble that was getting worse and messing with his head with every day that passed. Today, he resorted to doing something he had not done for a very long time. Sex. He used to be able to keep it in his pants for an incredibly long time because of the self-control he learned to have ever since he was young but he knew he needed it now. If not, he would either go spiraling or go ahead with what his sister told him which was the last option in his mind. He called in one of his many royal concubines that were just living, waiting to be called by him. Every Alpha that didn’t have a Luna yet had a bunch of them provided by the pack but Alpha Dante slept with them only once in a blue
The days went faster than the nights because of dealing with Paula when I got back to my chamber. I was starting to get irritated with her with every day that passed, and I knew it had everything with her changing an environment because that was certainly not how she was before. “When do you plan to clean up the goddamn room Paula?” Anger seared through my body as I found her laying on my bed with a box of chips made for me by the maids. It was hard to make them because of our potato scarcity, and I craved them all the time. So now that I had the power to have it whenever I wanted, I took the opportunity faster than lightning. “I will clean it, stop whining. You know you don’t have to go through all these if you just tell Robbie about our plan right?” I folded my hands over my chest which was covered with a dry towel I just wrapped around me after bathing. “You don’t tell me what to do Paula.” I turned my head away as a weight settled in my chest when I remembered our l
DANTE The sun was about to set when Alpha Dante started to get ready for his meeting with his sister. He picked up the cloak they'd usually wear back when they were kids and their parents would force them to wear them for their family meetings. Even though they detested it back then, it was one of the few things that reminded him of his childhood and their parents. He stared at himself in the mirror as he went over his outfit then once again, got lost while looking into his own eyes. They were a light shade of brown and had an innocent round look to them. He had long thick eyelashes that were mostly covered by his jet-black hair. He had a chiseled strong jaw that gave most of his face its shape, and full pale pink lips that sat under his clean-shaved mustache. He had just shaved his face some minutes ago and the spicy scent of his after-shave filled his room. He looked over at his bed that had his clothes that were sprawled over, which he all tried on before he found the one t
LEAH I strolled down the palace with my comfortable shoes to supervise the work of the Omegas that worked in the pack. Other times when I was less busy, I would go on to help them do one or two chores before I go back to my room to paint something out of boredom. My life used to be interesting before I got married to Robert. I mean, even though my parents weren't rich and we were practically Omegas, I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted without being restricted because of my duties as the wife of the pack's Alpha. I used to be a bubbly little girl up until marriage ruined me. Now, I would never have the chance to experience what love was like because no one will dare to go for the woman Alpha Dante was married to, or even was once married to if we ever get separated at all. "You need to put in more effort in ironing Alpha Robert's clothes," I told one of the Omegas. "I don't want to see a wrinkle on it after you finish or I'll simply have to relieve you of the duty and g
