2025-03-14 18:57:12Alex makes sure we are all comfortable before she begins “Okay, well when the two of you left, I was looking at the stuff we had read on the internet and I accidentally click on a random website called ‘monsters’ at first I was thinking, this is just going to be about random monsters from movies, but it wasn’t.” She pauses as though the next part of the story is absolutely horrifying, but with a little squeeze to her knee from Ash, she is able to keep going. “It said Ma Vista’s are not really known in the world today, but long ago they were known all over the world as ‘people with sight.’ Today they are starting to lose the battle against monsters. With more people dying every year you would think that people would wonder why the percentage has gone up, but others just chose to ignore this factor.’Alex pauses again to catch her breath before continuing ‘Many people do not know this, even the reincarnated Ma Vista’s do not know this but ‘the monsters are the cause of human deaths and abductions. The monsters are not stupid creatures, they have an intelligent mind set and do what there master says, but if they fail a mission they know the price they will pay.’ Alex stops restating what the website had said and continues to fidget for a little bit letting the new piece of information sink in, just as I’m about to ask a question she continues.
“As I continue to scroll down the page I came across a certain piece of information that made me so anxious to get here, it said The monster can only be killed by a certain object and only dies if it is hit in the heart, eye or forehead.” “Alex, what object?” I say in a concerned voice. She takes a big shaky breath. “By the sword of the first Ma Vista and the bow from the third Ma Vista, it continued by saying. If it is killed by anything else, it will be reincarnated 4 days later, only as a new monster, a younger monster, but it will remember what happened when you killed it. So have you killed one yet?” “Ah... Yeah... about that... we sort of...” Before I can finish the sentence Ash says “We have killed about 25 monsters and we nearly lost Nat in the process. Well this is just great. Did you find any extra information about this sword and Bow the website talks about?” Alex just stares at us in a mixture of shock, horror and fascination. “You’ve killed how many?” she asks in a soft whisper. I glance at Ash and wait for him to answer, when Alex sees that no one is going to answer she asks again in a stronger voice. “You’ve killed how many, Nat?” With the question directed at me I feel obliged to answer. “25.” “Oh shit, crap’ Alex lets out a string of curses that follow and starts to hyperventilate. Shit what have we done wrong, quickly I stand up and rush towards her. “Alex what is it? What have we done? What’s wrong?” With Alex panicking, I start to panic too; at first I thought she was joking, but the more I look at her petrified face, the more I fear that what ever she said was true. Finally her breathing settles enough to answer my questions “On the website it said every time a monster is killed by the wrong weapon it comes back ten times stronger and harder to kill, it also states that it starts killing people without mercy, and without reason.” My face crumples with concern, what does this mean? “Alex did you find out where these weapons are?” She looks at me with fear in her eyes “Yes.” She whispers. My mind takes over “Where are they?” I ask in a rather loud voice. Alex takes a big gulp, oh shit. “They are on the other side of the mountain and the only way you can find them is if they present themselves to you, and that only happens if they believe you are worthy.” It’s starting to get lighter so I can see more of the clearing and as my eyes pass over a certain bush I swear I see a small hand disappear into the darkness, leaving me trembling, who is it? I chose to ignore the bad feeling in my stomach and look back at Alex, she still seems to be stressed, so I know there’s more information to come. “Alex...” she gazes up at me and waits “What else was there?” The whole time Ash has been silent, I wonder what is going through his mind but Alex answers before I can ask. “When I reached the bottom of the page, there was a small picture that said enlarge and when I enlarged it, the picture didn’t come up straight away, but same dreadful words come up instead. ‘I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, AND I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. IT’S NOT GOING TO WORK MA VISTA’S. Then it flickered and more words came up. YOU MAY THINK YOU CAN WIN THIS WAR, BUT YOU ARE POORLY MISTAKEN. Then it flickered again and the next slide said SEE YOU SOON. It flickered one last time, this time in bright red writing it says. I LOOK FORWARD TO IT. Then it came up with a picture of the two of you, holding hands and walking into the forest. Then the screen went black and red words appeared WATCH OUT MA VISTA’S I’M COMING. And then the whole webpage blinked out of existence. I even searched Nicks computer and I couldn’t find it anywhere.” As she stops speaking we just sit there speechless. After we break the silence Alex says she has to leave, because her family is visiting her grandma. We share a quick hug before she runs down the path towards Frostvale. As I watch her leaving I ask the question that has been bugging me for a while. “What are we going to do?” I whine, “We are going to go find those weapons and then we are going to find out who this master is!” Quickly we both get changed into clean clothes, a pair of jeans and black shirt for Ash and another black tank top with black ripped jeans for me. Ash grabs his sword and I grab my bow and quiver. When I look to see how many arrows are left, I’m surprised to find that it’s full again. “Ash, why is my quiver full?” I ask in awe “Because when you were unconscious I ran around collecting all the arrow I could see, I also grabbed the knives you had thrown.” “Oh, you are amazing.” I say beaming up at him. He just chuckles and grabs some water bottles and a bag; that he starts filling with food. How long do you think it will take?’ I ask excitedly, even though my head still throbs when I do a sudden movement, but I couldn’t help jumping up and down. “I don’t know, but the sooner we go the better.” I nod in agreement I quickly I place the knives into my coat pocket and head towards the opening of the tent.

Once out in the fresh air, I take a deep breath and zone in on all my 5 senses, I feel the warm breeze blowing my hair back from my face, smell the freshness of nature, taste the small mint that is still left in my mouth, I hear all the birds singing in the trees, all the crickets making buzzing noises in the grass surrounding me, all the larger animals running around and snapping leaves and small branches with there feet and of course the leaves rustling over head, due to the wind. I wake up to find that I am in someone’s arms, at first I think that Ash has found me, but I can tell by his deodorant that, that’s not the case. My body aches all over; it feels like I have broken every bone in my body. But at least I feel secure in who ever these arms belong too. So I drift back to sleep trying to get rid of the throbbing headache that now plagues me. When I wake up again, I am still in the stranger’s arms and he is still walking steadily, I feel slightly better this time. With only a small headache but my whole body is still on fire. And it flares up every time this guy takes a step. After what feels like an hour we arrive at a small clearing, in the clearing is a small tent, not much different from Ash’s and mine. He must sense that I am awake because he starts talking to me. “Hi, you’re lucky I found you, a few hours longer and you would have died.” His voice is smooth and light it almost most makes me go back to sleep. “You know, you could actually say

As it gets later and I still am unable to stand, Cooper asks me if I would prefer to stay with him or if I wanted to leave. “Staying with you is probably safer then going out there into the wild when I can hardly walk.” He nods his head in agreement. I glance up for the first time and actually look at him. He has bright orange hair, greyish-blue eyes and a small amount of freckles that dash across his cheeks, his hair is cut short like Ash’s but his fringe is shorter. He is lean and muscular, I should have figured that out when he said he carried me for three hours. He looks very athletic and is pretty attractive, he also has a nice personality and is very caring, and I immediately take a liking to him. Before we go to sleep Cooper moves the sleeping bag so I have my own room, he then puts all his luggage in the middle and makes himself a bed on the other side. I was on my yearly hunt, but normally I would be with my family, except they died a few weeks ago. I don’t know what or how it happened I had just come home and they were all lying on the floor with pools of blood surrounding them. At first I had thought someone had murdered them but now I am not so sure. As I walk along a path my dad had made when we first started hunting, I find a rabbit trail that looks really fresh. I follow it through the woods until I see something that makes my insides freeze. There only three meters away from me lying on her back is a girl, her arms and legs going in many different angles. Slowly I walk towards the body, unsure whether she is alive or dead. As I get closer I am relieved to see a small rise and fall of the girls chest. What the hell is she doing here alone? When I am standing above her I look down at the girls face and I am struck with a strange emotion I have never felt before. But the girl lying before me is gorgeous; I have never seen any

“Natalie?” I say, trying to talk to her. “Yes, I was just thinking.” She says randomly, I chuckle at how stupid she just sounded. She roles over and winces from what I believe is pain. “We need to do something about your injuries are you comfortable enough with me to let me do it.” I ask she looks me in the eye and nods. As I check over her body I notice that she has a sprained ankle or twisted ankle and might also have a broken rib. She also has several bruises adorning her body, especially over her back. She ask me what time it was that I found her, but I have no idea what time that was because I didn’t have a watch so I just make it up. Her face seems to pale from the information I give her; I wonder how long she had been lying there before I had found her. “When I found you at the bottom of the hill, my first thought was that you were dead. I cry out as I open my eyes, and I find myself in my own tent, sweat covering my body. That was the scariest nightmare I have ever had. I sit up and look over and find Natalie still sound asleep. I have to get out of here and go hunting before I freak myself out even more. I grab my gear for hunting and head out towards my dad’s hunting trail that he made before he died. Walking along I set up several traps so I have a high chance of catching something for Natalie and myself to eat. So I stumble through the woods which are still filled with darkness from the night before which causes me to remember my dream. I couldn’t stab Natalie not unless something had over powered me. Plus Natalie was wearing the same cloths in the dream, to what she is wearing now. She is just so beautiful I couldn’t imagine hurting her; I even hate seeing her in pain. As I walk back towards my camp and Natalie, I check the traps and what I find is a young deer. This is going to be great breakfast, I grab

Finding the bow and quiver had excited me and I wanted to get out here and find Ash and hope that he has also found his weapons so we can continue this war. I know I still have to relax my ankle and my back as well as my rib. So I will hopefully still be able to stay with Cooper for a day or two, the problem with that will be him asking questions, I can’t continue to lie to him, I have never been good with lies. I also fear growing to attach to him, which will cause a lot of problems as well. Sometimes I wish Cooper could see the monsters but I know he can’t. If he could that would mean he is the bad Ma Vista and he would have killed me while I was unconscious. This time my sleep is plagued by nightmares and dreams alike. But I only remember one dream, that still plagues my mind when I wake up. I cry out from shock as I am pulled out of the nightmare. My whole body is trembling and I am covered in sweat, which has drenched my clothing making them stick to my body. The image still haunts me, Ash calling out my name, his hand reaching down to grab my hand as I fall. Then suddenly the dream freezes and words appear in the sky in blood red writing. ‘There coming’ then it flickers ‘were coming, be ready.’ Then suddenly I am falling again, than just before I hit the ground it blacks out. That’s when I woke up. I lie there as still as possible, too scared to move. What if the dream was real? What if it was a warning? This dream makes me more motivated to speed up my recovery and find Ash, my adrenaline speeds up and I begin to feel restless. I have to find Ash but I will need Cooper’s help, which means I will have to tell him all the things he do

While Cooper places all of his luggage and possessions into his car that is parked about 5 kilometres away from the campsite. I grab my new bow and have a bit of a practice. My ankle is still a little sore and my rib is taking it’s time to heal, but all I want to do is get away from this place and far away from Aidan, whoever that guy was. With the bow in my hand I feel complete as I walk into the undergrowth of the trees, that once was my greatest enemy, now my greatest ally. I set up several targets, carving crosses into the bark of the trees, some in front, some behind and some to the sides, so I can practice speed and change of direction. I start with the ones in front making sure that I have my usual rhythm then I speed up until I am shooting 1 arrow a second. Every arrow I release thunks as it hits its target.
