We got done with our preparations in no time and just as our father had said, we were set to go meet with Kayla that morning. Different emotions surged through my soul. A part of my heart was excited about the plan but another was quite convinced that there was something more about everything.

After fifteen minutes drive, I cleared my throat and directed my gaze to my father who was sitting behind me.

“Father…is there something you are yet to let us know?” I asked and for a moment, he acted as though he had no idea of what I had just said.

I tapped him gently to bring him back to reality since he looked as though he was lost in thoughts.

“Father, are we really going to bring Kayla back? What exactly is the reason behind our heading over to the black wood pack?” I asked again, with my brothers looking at me with an expression that suggested how confused they were as well.

“I would like everyone to remain silent. I wouldn’t want my ears to be filled with noise on this trip”,
