KaylaI sat on my bed as every memory I ever had at the pack started pouring back into my brain. I blinked off the tears that welled up in my eyes as I stood up and strolled over to the window. A huge part of my life was in this pack, and although most of it turned out to be terrific, I still didn’t want to leave. However, I needed to because despite how hard I wanted to make amends with the quad, they weren’t willing to do so. I finally packed up my bad and started making my way out of the pack. I could have easily made use of my powers to vanish and never be seen, but for some reasons, I wanted every single person at the pack to see that I was leaving indeed. Just as I approached the gate, I felt someone watching me. I swirled around and tried to place my hands on who it might be but I couldn’t. At this, I ignored the weird feeling and trudged further away. And then, I heard what sounded like footsteps. It was clear that someone was following me but whosoever it was didn’t want
Third person. Kayla swirled around to meet Jason, who had his hands inside his pocket and his gaze lowered to the ground. He had a small smirk on his face, and a questioning look that sort of asked the question of why Kayla would ever think of leaving the pack. “Jason?” Kayla called out, quite surprised to see him there even though she wasn’t so convinced that he would want her to stay back. As long as she was concerned, she was unwanted at the pack and has always been unwanted at the pack. “Where are you going to?” Jason asked again as he took another step closer. He has this fierce look on his face that suggested how he was both pained and confused by her decision. “I’m leaving”, she replied with a voice that sounded like a whisper, trying so hard to avoid gazing into his eyes. Jason gulped down hard and darted his eyes away again. “And why are you leaving?” He asked as he rolled his eyes at her. “No one wants me around. You all think that I’m a danger to your pack b
KaylaIsn’t it funny, the way live goes? How things start up on a bad note, only to transit to being good and then, return back to being bad. The quad had been a thorn in my flesh right from the very beginning but when they turned out to be good, I had a change of thought about them.It was crazy to witness a time when they returned back to being mean and nonchalant about things that concerned me, their mate. This was exclusive of Jason, who despite all, took me in and told me that he still needed me around. That gave me a sort of hope…if Jason wanted me, then I’m just fine. The strange woman whom I had met during my journey in the forest had told me that I could only choose one of the quad and I just knew that Jason was going to be that one. None of them knew about that, at least not yet. I had no idea of what such information would bring but I was getting ready to bring them in on it the moment I felt was right. “What are you thinking of?” Jason asked as he walked over to me,
Third person. A month after the death of the Alpha King and the rift between Kayla and the quad, she decided that it was time to let them in on everything that happened when she was at the forest. She wanted them to know that she had to choose just one of the quad as her mate for life and that was the instruction from the moon goddess. She broke the news to them one morning and the shock on their faces showed that they weren’t expecting to hear something like that. “But she chose you as our mates!” Ethan cried out. He was quite pained to hear such, even if he hadn’t really said so much words to Kayla. “You will find another mate once I make my choice”, Kayla explained as they both exchanged glances with each other. They gulped down hard and nodded, gesturing for her to go ahead with making her choice. “And so, who are you picking?” Jake said as he stared at her, as though he wished that she would choose him. Kayla stared at each of the quad, with tears dripping out of her eyes.
KAYLA I nervously made my way to the chambers of my quadruplet stepbrothers, dragging my feet as I wished never to get to the door that led to their chambers. This spelled trouble because they never called me unless it was for punishment or for taunting. My heart raced as I entered the room mainly because the look on their faces pointed out that this was not a friendly meeting. One of the quadruplets smirked as I entered the room, “Look who we have here, if it's not our very own Kayla… stand there!” He said in a stern voice. I walked to the spot he pointed at and took my place in front of them. I noticed Ashley, one of the quadruplet girlfriends, sitting on the thighs of her boyfriend, looking at me with so much disdain. The tension in the room was palpable, and I knew that something was up. Before I could say anything...“Kayla, what the hell were you thinking to want to poison my lady?” Ashley's boyfriend, Jason, angrily questioned me.“Huh!” I groaned, clearly taken aback, my mi
KAYLAThe morning light seeped through my windows, beaming gently on my face. At first, I covered my face with my pillow, trying to avoid the light and then, I rolled to the other side of the bed… tired from so much exhaustion. Suddenly, I remembered that today was a special day, my birthday. I yawned and sat on the bed, feeling a sense of excitement. I was finally eighteen! I got up and stretched, feeling the stiffness in my muscles from sleeping in an uncomfortable position. As I walked over to my window, I couldn't help but admire the beautiful view outside. The sun was rising, painting the sky with shades of orange and pink– it was a relief that at least something was colorful today. I stared blankly into space before I went to curl up on my bed. I was startled by the knock on my door.” I'm coming to get the door,” I said, as I groggily got out of bed and made my way to the door. It was one of the Gamma, the head servant.“And what in the moon goddess name are you still doing in
KAYLA.With trembling hands, I pushed the door open, ignoring the cold, eerie air that hit me right on the face. The room was dark, with no windows or source of light, and I squinted my eyes to adjust to the darkness of the room. I could hear my breaths in the quietness, and the creaking of the wooden floorboards under my feet. It felt like a thousand eyes were watching me, and every shadow seemed to hide a monster waiting to pounce and tear me into shreds.I walked gingerly around the room, supporting myself with the couch and the small ray of light that seeped in through a crack in the wall.“Argh!” I groaned in muffled tones as I hit my foot on an object and stumbled slightly. I quickly covered my mouth. I couldn't afford to be caught– I would be food for the bears if I'm caught in here. I looked down to see an old rug, covered in dust and cobwebs. The room was a mess. The furniture was draped in sheets and spiderwebs, as if no one had been in here for years. I slowly made my way a
KAYLA.“Please, Father, forgive me. I had no idea that it was a banned compartment”, I pleaded, with my voice trembling in fear and pain. I should have been out of this place but the words of my mother and the letter made me realize that that might be a dream which wouldn’t come to pass anytime soon. I would continue to be subjected to the same old fate– rejection and punishment. I knelt before the Alpha king-my step Father, vulnerable and helpless as he towered over me. He looked at me with a cold, stern expression as he spoke in a deep voice. It was hard to think of how swift it was for people to change. I could still recall how sweet he was the day my mother and I moved into the pack house as his new family. He had treated me so nicely that I found a father in him…something I never had. All of that changed the moment my mother passed… "You have committed a grave offense by entering into that room. And as such, you will be punished. You would kneel under the sun until it sets. M
