"Are you ready Savannah? We need to leave, we have a long journey ahead!" My mother Sophia shouts for the tenth time this morning.

"Yes momma, I'll be right down!" I shout while sitting on my bed reading my favorite book. Honestly, I've been ready to leave for the past hour but the thought of an 8-hour car journey with my family gives me an instant headache.

It's not that I don't like my family, I do, I love them more than my own life and I would give up my life to protect any one of them without hesitation.

But 8 hours of Logan, Levi, and Noah talking about girls, football, and finding their mate always ends up with them arguing and my parents yelling at them to be quiet while they sing their hearts out to 80s pop songs from the front of the car.

Thank goddess for my air pods, at least I can drown out the noise for a while and lose myself in my favorite playlist while attempting to read my book.

I will miss my best friend Mia though and my sister Emma. She can't make this trip as she had already promised to attend her friend Gabby's wedding which is in 4 days. We won't be back for 2 weeks so, of course, she couldn't manage both trips, but it's fine she's going to take Her best friend Paige and Mia with her so she's not alone and she'll help run the pack with Beta Kyle alongside attending Gabby's wedding.

My name is Savannah Leigh Johnson, I'm 18 years old and I am the daughter of the Alpha and Luna of the blue lake pack.

My parents are Luna Sophia and Alpha Jake Johnson, they are the best people I know, Amazing parents, and incredible leaders of our pack.

Then there are my siblings. Emma is the oldest of us all, she's not actually our sister by blood but mom and dad have raised her since she was 7 years old so she's our sister in every way that matters. She's just turned 30 and she is absolutely beautiful.

1 year after Emma came along my twin brothers were born, Logan and Levi. They are 22 years old and the future Alpha's of our pack. Then there's Noah he's almost 20 though he looks so much older. My siblings drive me up the wall more often than they should but we are all insanely protective of each other and I love the bond we all share.

"Savannah Leigh Johnson get your backside down these stairs now, don't make me come up there!" Now I really need to move, my mom is the kindest woman in the world but you don't want to piss her off.

I pop my book in my bag and make my way out to the SUV. There is a line of vehicles ready to go, my families and the rest are full of 30 warriors for protection and 15 she-wolfs hoping to find their mates at the pack we are visiting. Once I'm in and we're all buckled up we set off for our journey.

Let the fun begin.

2 hours left until we should finally be free of this car. Luckily I've managed to read a few chapters of my book and got in a four-hour nap, go me.

Logan and Levi are currently arguing over who the hottest celebrity girl is until one look from my mother makes them both shut up.

"How Noah can sleep with you two arguing right next to him I'll never know," I huff out at the twins, they both look at Noah and burst out laughing. I don't even need to ask what they are laughing at, I already know they have pulled a prank on him while he's sleeping. It's always the same with us, and the older we get the worse the pranks get, Trust me.

One time Noah decided to put gum in my hairbrush... It took 8 months for my hair to grow back to my normal length, the asshole paid for it though, my smile reaches my eyes remembering his face the morning he woke up with permanent bright pink hair. While they continue laughing their assess off I learn over and take a peek at Noah.

"Omg... that's brilliant. He's going to kill you when he sees it," They are dead.

"Pictures have already been uploaded." Logan proudly beams, oh shit, he'll pay for that.

"I want you all on your best behavior while we are visiting the blood moon pack I mean it!" Dad shouts from the front.

"I still don't understand why we have to go there dad, Alpha Jack requested this meeting so he should come to us," Logan shouts back to him.

"Yes, usually the Alpha that requests the meeting will be the one to travel but Alpha Jack has only been Alpha for 2 months, no one expected him to be Alpha himself included, he's only 16 the poor boy. It's a lot to take on you both know how much work it is boys and You're getting trained and ready for it. Alpha Jack hasn't had any training, he needs help and allies to stand any chance of making it, he poses no threat to us or our pack so making the journey this time is not a problem."

"I didn't think of that, your right dad." The twins are both quick to agree with him.

"And maybe my babies will finally meet their mates while we are there!" Mom says in a bubble Of excitement, I can't help but roll my eyes at her excited tone.

Commence tradition of the mate argument 3... 2... 1...

"My mate will be the best-looking one." Comes Levi.

"Pfft, no chance bro." Retorts Logan.

Oh boy, here we go.

"We will all think our mates are the best looking, you idiots. That's how it works!" Snorts Noah.

"Who are you calling an idiot fuck ball," Levi yells.

"Fuck off furry ass," Noah shouts.

Commence my mom telling them off 3... 2...1...

"Language! If I hear another bad word in this dam car from any of you boys you'll be running 20 miles every morning for the duration of our stay. Do I make myself clear!"

I love my mom.

"Levi, Logan why do you have this argument all the time when you know there's a chance you're going to end up with the same mate because you are twins?

"Ahh, Sav it's all fun and games that's all, we know we'll properly be sharing a mate. Not that it matters she'll love me more anyway obviously," Sings Levi.

"Will she fuck." Snorts Logan.

"Logan your 20miles start tomorrow morning!" Comes mum's unimpressed voice.

"Hahaha, yes!" We all know Levi has done that on purpose.

"You done that on purpose didn't you?"

"Dam right I did, enjoy your run bro."

"You'll be keeping him company Levi, you both starts at 8 am tomorrow," Mom sings to him.

"But I didn't swear."

"No, but, you got your brother into trouble on purpose."

Levi and Logan sink into major sulks. Well, that shut them up, the rest of us can't help but laugh. 22 or not they know how to pull a good toddler sulk.

"How long until we get there, Dad?" I shout to the front of the SUV.

"We should arrive in about one and a half hours butterfly."

My dad answers me with the nickname he's called me since I was a baby, I've loved butterflies for as long as I can remember, apparently even as a baby I loved them. I smile at my dad and pop my air pods in bringing up my favorite playlist on my phone. I lay my head back, close my eyes and relax my body while we continue our journey.

If only I knew how much this journey would change my life.

I open my eyes and stretch out my tired limbs, checking the time on my old beat-up clock I let out a groan. I want nothing more than to turn over and go back to sleep but my clock is telling me it's 5 am which means no more sleep for me instead I need to get up and start my day.

I can't be late making breakfast!

I drag my tired body out of bed, well I don't technically have a bed it's an old cot with a thin sheet that I use as a blanket still, it's better than the floor I guess. I grab my towel, change of clothes, and bar of soap and leave my bedroom.

The place I call a bedroom used to be a shoe cupboard but after Alpha Jason died it was decided I didn't deserve a bedroom and I was given this cupboard. It's small but it's my safe haven... Well, most of the time.

I don't need much room anyway as I only own two sets of clothes, a towel, my bar of soap which I only got because they couldn't stand the smell of me anymore, and a book that I found in the bin. I keep it hidden if anyone finds it they will take it away and I will be punished for having something I don't deserve.

I walk quietly through the packhouse desperate not to wake anyone and make my way outside. I walk around the back of the packhouse and make my way through the trees, and seconds later I reach the beautiful lake that I visit every morning.

The view of the lake surrounded by big beautiful oak trees always takes my breath away, it's the one beautiful thing in my life that no one can take away from me but that's only because no one knows I find beauty in this view.

Everyone believes I hate this place but that's because this lake is the place I visit to Wash my body. Yup, that's right I'm not allowed to use any showers or baths in the packhouse that's a privilege that I haven't earned. I'm forced to use the lake out back, the water gets so cold in winter that I sometimes come out with blue skin but the view is always beautiful and as long as no one knows of the beauty I see they can't take it away from me.

We are still in the summer season right now and although it's still early morning the water is surprisingly warm. I strip out of my old torn battered clothes and head into the lake I wash up quickly, get dried, and dress in my second set of old torn clothes before heading back to the packhouse to get breakfast started.

I can't be late making breakfast, not again!

My name is Theo Marco Rossi. I am 26 years old and I am an Omega slave for the blood moon pack. My life didn't start out this way I had loving parents, two sisters, and friends. All it took was 1 hour, 1 hour to change my life, and 1 hour is all it took for me to become an Omega slave.

I enter the kitchen and thank the moon goddess that time is on my side this morning in fact, I'm 15 minutes early so breakfast definitely won't be late. Hopefully, that means I'll only get slaps and kicks today while serving breakfast to everyone and I won't get beat. Friday I was 3 minutes late serving breakfast and I was badly beaten. The longer I'm here the worse the beatings get.

I switch on the two coffee pots and get started on the food. I cook piles of bacon, sausages, hash browns, toast, scrambled and fried eggs, and pancakes. I cut up loads of different fruit to go with the pancakes. I get plates and silverware ready for the tables and put the orange juice, apple juice, and water on the tables and get cups ready for the coffee.

"One of these days I'm going to vomit when I walk in here and see your face maggot." The Gamma shouts to me as he enters the kitchen. Drake's mate Katy walks in behind him and looks at me with disgust.

"You're clearly not getting beaten good enough if you're still alive you worthless piece of shit."

"Don't look at him for too long baby, your eyes will bleed," Drake tells Katy. They both burst into laughter and head for their table, soon everyone is appearing in the kitchen and the standard comments and hate are thrown my way but I keep my head down and get started with serving out the breakfasts.

Jenna the daughter of our top warrior and her mate Jackson enter the room next and make their way over to me. I know what's to come, it's the same every morning, they don't need a reason to hurt me, they enjoy it too much. Jenna walks alongside me and hits a plate of food on the floor her disgusted look clear for everyone to see.

"Look at what you've done. You are a useless disgusting excuse of a dog, clean it up now!" I grab paper towels off the counter, get on my hands and knees and start cleaning up the mess. "I didn't say you could use paper towels dog. Clean it up with your mouth, eat it off the floor like the dirty dog you are!" Jenna screams down at me, her voice is worse than nails on a chalkboard, and seers my eardrums.

I look up at her and instantly regret the move as the sting on my cheek gives me an instant headache, the girl can slap! I put my head back down but don't move, I've experienced many forms of punishments in this pack but never this.

"What are you waiting for mutt? My mate told you to clean it up." Jackson joins in.

I don't move, not until I feel the pain. He brings his boot up and kicks me in the face and I know my nose is broken, it's only been healed for two days since he last broke it. I know what's coming next, I try to curl up in a ball for some form of extra protection but I'm too late and the cracking sounds that follow tells me he's broken my ribs again.

He spits at me and takes Jenna's hand moving her to the table. I pull myself up trying to breathe through the pain and carry on with my work, I can feel myself slowly crumbling inside but I don't let anyone see. I turn my attention back to the kitchen waiting for the last of the wolves to make their way in for breakfast.

Alpha Jack and his Beta Alex are last to enter the room and take their seats. I make sure to get them served straight away and make my way back over to the kitchen to start cleaning.

"Oi, you slave, whatever your name is." I turn around and see that Alpha Jack is talking to me.

"Yes, you. I've important news to share with my pack members that don't concern you and I wish to do it now while everyone is here so get out of the kitchen I don't want your ugly ass hearing this. You can return in 30 minutes to get this place cleaned up."

"Of course Alpha." I keep my head down while I answer him. I'm not allowed to look at him when he speaks to me. I learned my lesson a long time ago, and the scars on my back are a constant painful reminder.

I leave the kitchen and head straight for my bedroom, it's the one place I can let all my frustrations out without being beaten for it. Every day I wake up praying for a miracle, praying that for 1 day I don't get hurt, clearly, today is not that day but I'll just remain hopeful for tomorrow. Hope is all I have right now, hope that'll one day I'll be free.
