Strawberries and Cinnamon

Savannah's pov

Within 40 minutes I am showered and on my way to meet my brothers at my parent's room. I've washed and dried my hair and left it down my natural brown curls hanging loosely down my back. I've gone with a thin strap floral summer dress that comes just above my knees and hugs my curves quite well. I've paired that with brown strap sandals, a touch of mascara, and a dab of my favourite strawberry lip gloss, not that I ever wear much more makeup than this unless it's a special occasion.

As I'm making my way down the hall to my parent's room all three of my brothers step out of their rooms at the same time, Logan's just about to knock on our parent's door when they both step out, they properly heard us coming werewolf hearing is incredible.

"Hey guys, would you like to see the twin's nails? they really made an effort for dinner." I can see Noah holding in a laugh, oh dear looks like payback came quicker than I expected.

"We didn't do anything, it was all Noah." Logan is trying to look unimpressed while Levi is holding back a laugh, none of us takes the pranks seriously what's the point in that?

"Come on guys let us see."

They show us their nails and I'm done. Levi's nails are painted glitter pink, Logan's glitter yellow, and I'm crying laughing along with my parents.

"Looking very good boys, very Alpha-like." my dad tries to cover his laugh with a cough but none of us are fooled.

"Noah where did you even get the nail varnish from?" Mum is still laughing, she's not even trying to stop.

"I bought it before we came, I knew they'd do something on the way and I wanted to be ready for payback." I bloody love this boy. We finally stop laughing...for now anyway, they won't be living this down anytime soon Noah will have more up his sleeve.

"Everyone ready?" dad asks we all nod yes and make our way to the dining hall to meet Alpha Creepy and all his pack members.

"How amazing would it be if any of us meet our mates while here?" comes Levi's excited voice.

"Hopefully brother hopefully." Logan chimes in.

"Chloe, what's wrong?" She's been acting strange since I woke up from my nap and she's got me slightly on edge.

"I don't know Savannah I feel like something's going to happen."

"Ok well we'll both keep a lookout and if you figure out what's happening with you please let me know?"

"I will Savannah, I promise." she scurries to the back of my mind sulking to herself.

We reach the bottom of the stairs to find Alpha creepy and Beta Alex waiting for us.

"Good evening Alpha Jake, Luna Sophia, and family." Alpha Jack greets us. "your warriors and she-wolfs have all been seated ready for dinner but we personally wanted to escort you all to the Dinning hall, I hope this is ok?"

His goddam creepy smile is back and I feel the familiar feeling of ugly Goosebumps surfing all over my body. I honestly don't see anything attractive in him, he's tall 6ft4 I'd say, with dirty blonde hair slicked back and dull green eyes that make me cringe. I don't see any tattoos on him but I do notice piercings one in both ears his eyebrow and bottom lip, they look gross, too much I also notice he's not as big as Beta Alex, less muscle which I find strange as he's Alpha surely he should be bigger and the strongest in the pack which I don't think he is.

"Thank you, Alpha Jack, Beta Alex, this is very kind of you." my dads showing his genuine smile towards Alpha Jack and I'm praying it's all a front, I'd hate them to become good friends meaning we'd have to spend more time with him than absolutely necessary.

We make our way down the long passageway, we pass a lounge room and kitchen along the way. The corridor is very simple and plain, the walls are painted an off-white and a red carpet runs the whole length of the floor. We carry on making our way to the hall when suddenly Chloe starts prancing around in my head her pace picking up more and more, she's making strange noises and seriously giving me a headache.

I'm about to ask her what's going on when I'm suddenly hit by that delicious smell again, strawberries and cinnamon but in the sweetest way possible and the closer we get to entering the hall the stronger the smell becomes. Chloe's losing her shit in my head and as much as I try and talk to her she's just not answering. We follow Alpha creepy to our seats and everyone starts taking among themselves while we wait for the food to be brought in.

"I must say your nails are looking lovely tonight Levi and Logan. I think it's really nice how much of an effort you made for dinner." Noah bellows out loud enough for the whole table to hear. I knew more was coming, everyone around the table starts checking out their nails, and one by one the laughing starts up.

"So Savannah I am told that you are quite the fighter?" Alpha creepy drools at me across the table.

"Yes she is actually the 2nd strongest female warrior in my pack!" my dad proudly announces.

"That is very impressive." he nods with his creepy smile.

"Tell me Savannah, have you found your mate yet?"

"Hmm...no I haven't, but I only turned 18 4 months ago so still plenty of time." I pray my answer is enough for him to shut up or at least just stop talking to me, he's about to say something else to me when Noah starts firing off questions to him about his pack and I've never been so relieved, Noah gives me a knowing look and I return it with a great full one, he's just saved my ass from more awkward questions we both know that.

That dam smell is still so strong and Chloe is honestly getting worse, my head's pounding, and I just want to eat my food and get back to bed with some Advil. As if on cue the pack's Omegas start bringing in dishes and dishes of food it all looks and smells amazing and I am drooling. I hope they have burgers and fries or pasta and sauce oh and peach cobbler, maybe some ice cream. I always prefer the more simple foods in life I don't have a love for posh Nosh, I hope that smell that's been driving me insane is one of the deserts tonight, it will taste Devine I just know it.

We've all eaten our fill of the food, dam they have good cooks here, everything was delicious and guess what? Yes that's right I got my burgers and fries plus pasta and sauce but I'm so full now I could burst.

"Desert will be brought in now everyone please enjoy," announces Beta Alex The minute he says them words all thoughts of me being too full completely slip away, I'm more than ready for that delicious strawberry and cinnamon dessert. The deserts are brought in but nothing with strawberry and cinnamon, what the fuck? How Can I still smell it? I think my headache is playing tricks on me.

We're all chatting about everything and anything while the Omegas leave the dining hall once more, one of them a girl around my age passes me as she's making her way out and that smell seems to get even stronger and I've had enough. I excuse myself from the table and start to follow the girl...

"Hey Sav, wait up a second." turning around I see Noah trailing me.

"Hey bro, everything ok?"

"Yeah all good, I was just coming to ask you the same thing. You've not been yourself tonight, you seem distracted, what's going on?"

"Honestly I'm not sure what's going on, Chloe has been driving me insane since I woke up from my nap prancing around and completely unsettled, I've got the headache from hell and that dam smell is literally driving me insane!"

"Ahh Sav, why don't you get yourself to bed and take some Advil...wait...what smell?"

"Yeah that's my plan and I don't know it reminds me of strawberries and cinnamon. I assumed it was one of the deserts but then nothing comes out with those flavours, then while the Omegas were leaving after bringing in the deserts one of them walked past me and the smell got even stronger, it's driving me insane so much that I literally started following the girl to try and figure it out when you called me."

"Hmm...Savannah maybe your mate is here?" Noah looks at me with a strange expression that eventually turns into a cheesy grin as the realization hits me that he could be right but I'm not sure how to feel about it.

"He can't be I mean everyone from the pack was at dinner, the only ones missing are the guards on duty but I wouldn't smell them here it's too far away. It only started when we were heading for the dining room and it's definitely no one in there!"

"Ok I see your point...but wait you said that the smell got stronger when the Omega walked past you yes?"

"Yes so?"

"So maybe your mates in the kitchen? Or maybe your mate's an Omega? It wouldn't make sense for an Alpha's daughter to be mated with an Omega but I've heard of stranger things happening."

"You could be on to something there and it Wouldn't matter to me if my mate was an Omega. His ranking doesn't mean anything to me, a mate is a mate and that's that!"

"I know Sav, I feel the same way you know that. So how about we head to the kitchen see if we can track down this smell and maybe even your mate?" Noah shoots me a wink alongside his cheesy grin while I just nod back still not really sure what's going on and we head for the kitchen. As we're just approaching the kitchen door we start to hear shouting and a groaning noise, it breaks my heart to hear that sound and suddenly I feel really sad.

"You worthless piece of scum!"

"You should have died a long time ago!"

"Once these guys are done with you, I am going to skin you alive nice...and...slowly!"

We rush into the Kitchen and the sight we are greeted with is one that I'll never forget for as long as I live. 5 maybe 6 guys are kicking and punching someone on the floor while throwing venomous words at him/her, Gamma drake isn't doing any hitting though, he's just standing there watching what's happening with a sick shark grin on his face.

I realize at that moment that he was the one who said he was going to skin this person alive, he's enjoying this sick show just waiting for his turn. Both Noah and I move quickly to where they are and manage to pull two of them off of the person, I turn around to see who's on the floor and our eyes connect, at that moment I am completely lost and then something crazy happens, Chloe comes to the front of my mind saying.

"MATE" "MINE" "MATES HURT" "HELPMATE"

I look to the guy on the floor below me, he's the most handsome man I have ever seen, he's now passed out from what those bastards have done to him and I lose my shit

"GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF OF MY MATE!"
