Chapter 62

Serena POV:

Two more days have passed. I was kept under house arrest by Asher, and he did not allow anyone to come near me. I almost lost all the news of Elias. I really miss him, but I can't do anything reckless. I have another duty to protect our children.

I reached out to touch my stomach, my throat a little tight. "Darling, don't be afraid. Mom will find a way to find your father. We will meet again soon."

My chest aches; whenever I think of Elias, I feel uncomfortable.

Outside the door came the sound of footsteps. I immediately lay down, closed my eyes, and covered half of my face with the blanket.

Asher stood next to my bed for a while, and I didn't know what he was thinking, to which he seemed attentive. But I don't want to know either, and I want him to leave this place quickly.

"If you wake up, don't pretend to sleep anymore. Trying to hold your breath and lie motionless will make you uncomfortable. I bring you the evening, wake up and eat." Asher spoke in a deep voice.
