Serena POV:

I slowly came out of the coma. The physical pain gradually disappeared, but my head still hurt when I opened my eyes.

The smoky gray ceiling caught my eye; a faint licorice scent made me shiver. That scent told me Asher was always here, right next to me.

"You have been sleeping for many days." Asher raised his voice slightly hoarse.

I moved my dry lips, and my throat parched as I tried to make a sound.

Asher touched the back of my hand, pressing his voice. "You have something surprising for me, Serena."

"What are you talking about?" I looked at him and immediately understood the problem.

My forehead was sweaty; I trembled and hugged my stomach under Asher's cold eyes. "What do you want to do?"

"You are pregnant." Asher looked at me, and he was affirming, not asking me a question.

Asher saw my attitude, and his eyes gradually turned red with anger. He grabbed my wrist, staring at my belly with envy. "Why did you get pregnant by him?"
