Emily fell on her bed feeling worn out for the first time since the beginning of that day. "Andrew." Emily called out.Andrew staggered backwards, her hair was packed up in a ponytail, just like Selene's. "Andrew" she called out again, dusting her shorts. "I hope you don't mind my sneaking in on you. I couldn't help it."A tremor shot through Andrew's body. She used the exact same words as the moon goddess. It was too much of a coincidence. His mouth flapped open and close, but no words came out. Emily finally noticed his expression and stopped. "Andrew?" She called, Andrew swallowed,"Is something wrong? Did something happen?" Andrew cleared his voice as he finally found his voice."What are you doing?" He rasped. "Why did you come in through the window? Where are your shoes?"Emily sighed, not knowing how to explain herself. "Uhm….uhm… so I finished showering and was about to come looking for you when I heard a song? I dunno but it called me and the next thing I found myself in the forest, something told me that we were safe from the wolves and boom I got myself.

"Elias," Douglas said into the phone, "What's holding your return to Brighton?" Douglas looked haggard, his hair which had always been slicked back now shot out. His beard was now overgrown and scruffy. His immaculately clean and starched clothes were now rumpled and scraggly. Books were scattered all over the place, some shelves were toppled over, others were broken and the splinters and pieces strewn over the study.Douglas desk fared worse, different bottles of liquor stood or laid on it alongside crumpled bits of paper, food wrapper and broken glass. The study reeked of stale food and alcohol."We'll soon be home, give us at least a week." Caleb jerked up from a terrifying nightmare and found himself on the damp forest ground. He looked around groggily trying to remember why he was in a charred part of the forest. All the trees surrounding him were wrinkled and dead, even the grasses and shrubs suffered the same fate.He tried sitting up but found his limbs too heavy. After minutes of failed efforts he succeeded and dragged himself to the nearest tree to rest and catch his breath.He scanned his environment again, wondering if he was still in Brighton's territory.Shirley's hunched figure, which was a few feet from him, scared the shit out of him. Douglas was still fuming as he sat in his office wondering why Larry wanted to see him."Larry has been coming here consecutively for more than a week now, to see you. But he always comes too early. Emily woke up bright, and early the next day. As she showered and got dressed for the day she noticed that she was still burning with excitement from the night before. She'd paused severally to ask herself why. She couldn't tell if it was the presence of the Gem or if she was excited because she was going to spend her day with Andrew. She guessed that it was a bit of both.Humming, she made her way to the kitchen in search of a quick snack and tried to ignore the faint song that called to her. But it's pull seemed to be stronger that morning. And she found it hard concentrating on any other thing. Her hands shook, even as she made coffee that morning.
