The misterious man

I was sitting in my room while flashes from last night tormented my mind. I thought of that mysterious and determined woman, her taste, her gaze, her sway. She had enchanted me, and I needed to find her again. I'm not the type to get attached, and I just wanted to see her once more to have another night like that. She was indeed different from the others, and I needed to have that woman in my bed, moaning my name. I needed to know her name and have her once more. As I started to remember her, I got a little too excited. I was pulled out of my thoughts when Daon entered the room. He had been away for three months and had returned today because we had a show tonight. He was very mysterious and said he would surprise everyone when he returned.

"Look who's back from the dead!" said Jayden.

"Of course! But what's that? Is that a flashlight in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" replied Daon, laughing.

I ended up laughing and adjusted my pants, trying to cover it up.

"Sorry, when you walked in, I was thinking about this hottie I was with last night," I explained.

"Ah, which one?" Daon asked, curious.

"I don't know, she didn't want to say her name, but she was completely different from any woman I've ever seen," I responded, still intrigued.

"What do you mean?" Daon asked, surprised.

"She was determined, knew what she wanted, and was so naughty she drove me crazy," I replied with a mischievous smile.

"And what's the difference? You're with a different one every day," Daon commented, raising an eyebrow.

"No. None of them were as good as she was. I need to find that woman!" I said, determined.

"Well, good luck! I also found a special woman," Daon confessed, smiling.

"You, who are so picky and never hook up with anyone?" I asked, surprised.

"It's not like that. Anyway, everyone is judging me, but I hope you won't, you're my best friend, and I hope you'll support me," said Daon, seriously.

"Of course, wait, support you in what?" I asked, curious.

"I got married. In Vegas," Daon replied with a shy smile.

"What?" I asked, incredulous.

I was surprised but very happy for him. Daon was the type who overthought everything and ended up always being alone. He said he didn't want to sleep with just anyone and always got hurt for valuing the women he got involved with too much, women who toyed with his feelings.

"Really?" I asked, still surprised.

"Yes, I met her on my first day in the United States, at that party I went to. We left together and spent the whole night talking. I opened up to her and told her things I don't think even you know. We made love under the stars, and after that night, we never parted. When it was time to leave, I couldn't say goodbye, so I proposed to her, and we got married in Vegas," Daon explained, with a sparkle in his eyes.

"Wow, that's surprising!" I responded, still taking in the information.

"I know it was crazy, but I'm very happy!" said Daon, smiling.

"Well, I'm shocked, but if you're happy, then I'm happy too, and tonight after the show, we'll celebrate your wedding!" I declared, excited.

We were interrupted by a knock on the door, and Daon gave a silly smile.

"Come in, love!" said Daon, cheerfully.

When the door opened, I was completely stunned. I didn't know what to do when I saw the woman I had been thinking about all night standing in my room in my best friend's arms. She looked at me and seemed as lost as I was. He kissed her and introduced her as his wife, and at that moment, my world fell apart. How could it be that the woman I wanted was my friend's wife? She seemed to snap out of the trance and forced a smile, quickly extending her hand to me as if we didn't know each other.

"Hi, nice to meet you, Daon has spoken a lot about you!" said Jane, trying to sound casual.

I stood up, shaking her hand, and felt electricity run through my body when my skin touched hers.

"The pleasure is mine!" I replied with a forced smile.

"Love, Jayden said that after the show, we're all going out to celebrate our wedding," said Daon, excited.

She looked at him, and her eyes sparkled. I couldn't say why, but it irritated me in a way I couldn't explain.

"Is that right, love? Great! I always want to celebrate our wedding because it was the best thing that happened to me," replied Jane, smiling.

He kissed her tenderly, and my blood boiled. That mouth that a few hours ago was calling my name and begging for more.

"I'm very excited because this will be the first show of mine that Jane will watch," said Daon, proudly.

"And I'm even more excited, I can't wait to hear my husband sing," replied Jane, excited.

Someone knocked on the door, and Simon soon entered the room. When he saw Daon, he went up to him, greeting him and pulling him into a hug.

"Damn, I thought you weren't coming back!" said Simon, smiling.

"I always come back!" replied Daon, laughing.

"And you came back well accompanied! Who's this pretty lady?" asked Simon, curious.

"Simon, this is Jane! My wife!" replied Daon, proudly.

"Wife? Wife? Did you hear that, Jayden? Our boy's grown up!" joked Simon, laughing.

"Stop it!" replied Daon, laughing.

"Wow! You chose well, Daon! Isn't she beautiful, Jayden?" asked Simon, smiling.

Our eyes met for a moment, and she blushed slightly, reminding me of her completely red face after all the pleasure from last night.

"She is!" I replied, trying to keep my composure.

"Look, it's a pleasure to meet you! I'm Simon, and if you're making my friend happy, I already like you for free!" said Simon, friendly.

"Thank you! It's also a pleasure to meet you!" replied Jane, smiling.

"Now, Daon, I really needed your help urgently with a new song. Do you have a minute now?" asked Simon, seriously.

"Now, man?" asked Daon, surprised.

"Just a quick moment! Jane, can I borrow your husband for a bit?" asked Simon, laughing.

"As long as you give him back later," replied Jane, smiling.

She smiled, and Simon returned the smile.

"That I can't promise, I might steal this handsome guy for myself!" joked Simon, laughing.

Everyone laughed, and only I was too confused to find anything funny.

"Is it really okay if I go, love?" asked Daon, looking at Jane.

"Sure, I'll be going then," replied Jane, hesitant.

"No, love, wait here for a bit, I'll be back in about twenty minutes. Take the opportunity to talk to Jayden and get to know him a little better!" said Daon, smiling.

He had no idea that I already knew more about his wife than he could imagine. She glanced at me briefly, and I could tell she didn't want to be alone with me. She agreed, and he kissed her before leaving with Simon. When they closed the door, her demeanor completely changed, and she hid her face in her hands.

"What the hell is this?" I asked, approaching her.

I got up from my chair, going to her, and she stood in front of me, her perfume intoxicating me, and it was surreal how much I wanted this woman, even knowing she belonged to someone else.

"Look, I can explain," said Jane, nervous.

"I hope you can!" I replied, crossing my arms.

"I love Daon!" asserted Jane, firmly.

"That's not what it seemed like when you were moaning for me!" I replied, irritated.

"Speak lower! That was a mistake!" said Jane, desperate.

"A mistake? I was a mistake?" I asked, incredulous.

"The worst mistake I've ever made! Look, last night there was a misunderstanding between Daon and me. I was determined to end everything and go back to the United States. I only slept with you because I thought my marriage was over!" explained Jane.

"Look, last night there was a misunderstanding between Daon and me. I was determined to end everything and go back to the United States. I only slept with you because I thought my marriage was over!" explained Jane, desperate.

"Was that the only reason? No, it wasn't just that! You wanted to be with me. You desired me, I felt it in your kisses, in your gaze..." I insisted, frustrated.

"Stop! Stop with this! It meant nothing! Only my love for Daon matters!" said Jane, trying to stay calm.

"So what? You deceived him? What did you say when you got home? That you were at the park?" I asked, irritated.

"No! I didn't lie! I told him I was with a man but that it didn't mean anything. I told him the truth, and he forgave me!" replied Jane, trying to justify herself.

"And do you think he'll forgive you when he finds out that the 'man' was me?" I asked, challenging.

"He has to understand because it meant nothing," insisted Jane, with tears in her eyes.

"How can you say it meant nothing?" I asked, perplexed.

"Jayden, I didn't even know who you were, I didn't know your name. I only slept with you because I was very sad with Daon, and besides, I had been drinking," said Jane, trying to justify herself.

"No! Don't play the alcohol card because you knew exactly what you were doing!" I replied, gripping her arm.

"Let me go! You're hurting me!" exclaimed Jane, trying to free herself.

I let her go immediately, stepping back.

"And now, Jane? How do we go on from here?" I asked, angrily.

"We don't," replied Jane, trying to show coldness.

She tried to show coldness with her gaze, but her eyes were filled with tears.

"Look, Daon has told me enough about you to know that you're the type who hooks up and doesn't get attached, the type who is with a different girl every day and then doesn't even remember their names. Isn't that right?" said Jane, with a cold voice.

She was accurately describing how my life was, and for the first time, it felt offensive. I had always been proud of who I was, but now I shrugged as I confirmed.

"Yes!" I replied, disheartened.

"Then that's it! I was just another one-night stand for you, and it meant nothing. So let's close this chapter and pretend it never happened!" said Jane, decisively.

"If that's what you want," I replied, resigned.

"It's better this way. I'm leaving now, and when Daon returns, please tell him I left because I had a headache," said Jane, grabbing her bag.

She gave me one last look, full of pain and regret, and quickly left through the door. I stood there, feeling a mix of anger, sadness, and confusion. My best friend was married to the woman I couldn't get out of my head, and who, apparently, couldn't get me out of her head either. And now, how was I going to deal with this?
