Aurora's POV

For hours, I waited for anyone to walk into the room, but no one came in—not even the doctor that Father had threatened. I wished my phone were with me; I could have called someone, maybe texted Lord Frederick and told him the truth, but I doubted if he would believe me.

Leaving my bed, I walked to my window and thought of jumping down, but that would be suicide, seeing the room was on the fourth floor. Also, there was no way I could escape because I knew Father’s men were all over the place.

Pained and heartbroken, I went back to my room and sat down on the bed while placing my hand on my stomach. I couldn’t believe a tiny being was growing inside me. I couldn’t believe I was pregnant with Lord Frederick's baby, his seed growing inside me. My thoughts went to Lord Frederick, and I wondered how he would take the news. Will he accept this pregnancy?
