Still missing

Lord Frederick's POV

An awkward silence hung in the air as the men before me all had worried and tired looks on their faces. I swallowed in fear as I wondered what they had to say to me. It had been three days since the accident, and Aurora still hadn’t been found. The men who were in the car with her survived and explained that the car's brakes had been tampered with, a clear indication that someone wanted to get rid of Aurora; they wanted her dead. We checked all the CCTV footage from Ian's home, but we couldn’t see anyone tampering with the car's brakes. However, I knew something fishy was going on, and I would not rest until I got to the root of it.

“Speak,” I told the men who were in charge of discovering Aurora's body from the water.

They all hesitated before one of them stepped forward. “Sir, we are 100 percent sure that Aurora's body is not in that water. Even if she had drowned, her body should have surfaced by now,” he explained, and I swallowed my pain. “So what are you
