Elena’s POV

I crept into the kitchen, trying not to make a sound. I needed a glass of water to calm my racing thoughts. As I entered, I was met with a sight that made my blood run cold.

Alex and Sophie were standing by the counter, their lips locked in a passionate kiss. Elena's heart shattered into a million pieces. She felt like she'd been punched in the gut.

Sophie's hands were wrapped around Alex's neck, pulling him closer. Alex's hands were on her waist, holding her tight. They were lost in their little world, oblivious to my presence.

My eyes welled up with tears. I felt a wave of nausea wash over me. I wanted to scream, to yell, to throw something. But I was frozen in place, unable to move or speak.

The kiss seemed to last forever. Finally, Alex and Sophie broke apart, gasping for air. They smiled at each other, their eyes shining with happiness.

Finally, Alex and Sophie noticed my presence, he turned to me and smiled like nothing happened.

“Hey Elena, what’s good? Why are you
