Elena’s POV

What did Rachel want to talk about? Why was she being secretive? I stared at my phone, my mind racing with questions.

I tried to shake off the feeling of unease, telling myself it was just Rachel being dramatic. But the words lingered in my mind like a whisper in the dark.

As I lay in bed, my eyes fixed on Alex’s peaceful face, I knew I had to find out what Rachel wanted. I couldn’t shake the feeling that our little bubble might burst.

I carefully got out of bed not wanting to wake Alex, and made my way to the hotel lobby. My heart raced as I dialed Rachel’s number.

“Rachel, what’s going on?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

“Elena I need to see you”, I don’t know your whereabouts can you give me a hint? Rachel asked me, her voice low and urgent. “But it has to be between us.

I hesitated unsure how much to reveal. “I’m out of town right now. But I’ll be back soon”.
