Chapter 3

Allison POV

I woke up to the sound of the ringing of an alarm.

I turned to find Kal staring at me.

"Hey," I said, his voice hoarse.

"Hi," I smiled up at him, my entire body aching and sore from all of the delicious love making from last night.

"You are awake…" he stroked my hair.

"Yes,"

"You sleep like a dead log."

He chuckled.

"Hmmm." I stretched on the bed and pulled myself up to a sitting position.

I could feel Kal's eyes on me and it made me shiver…

He pulled me towards him and kissed me passionately.

The kiss was getting heated when the sound of a ringing phone stopped us.

Cole quickly stood up from the bed and walked over to where he phone sat on a chair and picked it up.

He stared down at his phone, his eyes wide like he'd just been told that his favorite pet was hit by a car.

Quickly, he walked out of the room without saying a word.

My brows furrowed but I figured he'd tell me what was wrong if he wanted to.

My phone rang somewhere in the room and I traced it to the floor.

I picked up and found that I had twenty missed calls from Hannah.

Shit!

I tried to call her back but she wasn't answering.

I shot her a quick text, telling that I was sorry and I had slept off at some guy's house.

I quickly dropped my phone and washed my face. I'd bathe when I got back to the dorm.

Once I was done, I went out to try to find Cole but he wasn't anywhere to be found.

"Colel!" I called his name but it seemed like he'd left the cabin.

I went back into the room to get my bra and shoved it in my bag.

I went back out, trying to find him but he wasn't there.

I spent thirty minutes trying to find him and when I couldn't wait any longer, I found my way out of the cabin and into the street where his car was supposed to be packed but it wasn't there.

My heart fell to my stomach as I put two and two together and realized what had just happened… he'd left me but why?

Everything was going pretty well.

Was that just a one night stand to him?

The urge to cry strangled me but I held onto my dignity. I needed to find a way to get back to the dorm.

I called Hannah again after twenty minutes of walking and she finally picked up.

"Where the hell have you been?!"

She barked into the phone.

"Hi, it's a long story but do you think you can come pick me up?"

"What happened?" She asked, a tinge of worry in her voice.

"I'll let you know once I'm out of here but I'm fine."

"Okay, I'll come get you, send me your location."

"Alright, thank you, Hannah. I owe you one, in fact, I owe you a bunch."

"Sure, my love."

She said and hung up.

How on earth did you get all the way over here?"

Hannah asked twenty minutes later as I got into the passenger seat.

"I might have had a one night stand."

"Really?"

She squealed.

"Don't sound so excited. It wasn't what I expected."

"It wasn't good?"

She asked, winking up her nose.

"It was amazing but… I don't know, I guess I was expecting it to be more since he was my mate."

"Wait, you found your mate and had a one night stand with him?"

Hannah asked, trying to keep her ehes on the road but failing miserably.

"Yeah. He left this morning when he got a phone call without telling me, completely disappeared.

"I'm sorry," Hannah said with a sympathetic look in her eyes.

"It's not your fault." I sighed.

"What a douche!"

"Yeah,"

I sighed, an empty feeling growing in my chest. Was I being dramatic?

I hated feeling like I was doing too much.

Maybe it wasn't his fault, maybe he really needed to run.

"Maybe we'll find him around campus, do you know his name?"

"Yeah, his name is Cole"

"Ouu, nice name." Hannah purred.

I rolled my eyes at her.

We got back to the dorm and both got ready for school.

Hannah was practically my tour guide for the day, she'd followed me everywhere, showing me where to sign up for my classes and sign some documents needed for my full admissions.

It was around 6pm when we finally finished all of the signings and touring and we were back in the dorm.

"Where are you going?"

I asked Hanah twenty minutes later when she emerged from her bedroom dresser in all business casual.

"Dad is hosting a business dinner with his associates and he wants me there."

"Noooo." I pouted.

"I know and I'm sorry we haven't spent a lot of time together but I promise once I'm done with all of the duties this week, I'm all yours."

She smiled.

"Good, I'm holding you to it "

"Of course." She gave me a quick hug and asked me how she looked and I said she looked great before walking out the door.

I sighed and sat back on the plush cushioned couch thinking about Kal. I hadn't seen him in school today, which I had not expected.

I contemplated on whether or not to go back to that bar and demand for answers.

Why had he just left me in that cabin ?

You should go ask him. He's our mate. Demand an explanation for his behavior, I'm sure he has a good one.

My wolf Clara said.

"You are right!" I said and shot up from the couch and into my room to change.

I wore a red blouse and jeans.

I put my hair up in a high ponytail and left the dorm room.

I got to the bar fairly quicker this time.

It wasn't as busy as the last time, there were only a handful of students inside.

I glanced around, my eyes searching for him.

When I couldn't find him, I walked up to the bartender, Candace.

"Hey princess,"

Candace said with a lopsided smile.

"Hi Candace,"

"What would you like to drink?"

She asked,.her eyes raking my body with a weird expression that suspiciously looked like admiration and desire.

"Nothing." I said, placing my hands on the bar.

"I was wondering if you could tell me where I could find Cole."

"Cole?" She frowned like she couldn't recognize the name.

"Yes, the guy I was having drinks with last night."

"Oh, my boss. He isn't here today."

"Oh, I see. Has he been here today?*

"Yeah, he left three hours ago,"

"I see. Thank you."

I let out a sigh and sat on a stool, feeling defeated.

I ordered for a cosmopolitan and nursed my drink. A bunch of guys came over to talk to me but I declined.

All I wanted to do was either to talk to Kal or go home and cry.

Once I was done with my drink, I paid Cadence and she refused to collect payment, saying that it was on the house.

I thanked her and left for my dorm.

Once I got to my dorm, I took off my clothes and got ready to go to bed but as I was about to lock the door, a knock came.

I frowned, wondering who that could possibly be at this time. It couldn't be Hannah, I checked the peephole but couldn't see anything through it.

With a sigh, I opened the door and my eyes widened and my heart skipped several beats when I saw who it was at the door.

"Kal?"

"Ali?"

We both said simultaneously in shock.
