“Cassandra is not around this morning, so I made you this. I hope you will eat before you go to work.”

I can't stop myself from furrowing my brows after I heard James' words. He was looking at me straight in the eyes as he spoke those words as if he were telling me how sincere he was.

I shook my head, while the corner of my lips lifted. This seems surreal to me. I couldn't believe James was preparing breakfast for me. He never did this before with me.

“What are you doing, James?” I asked, making him sigh.

“It's because I wanted to. I wanted to serve you the way you did to me before and also because of one reason,” he paused, making me shake my head. “I love you, and I regretted abandoning you before, so I wanted to make you feel the thing I failed to do with you before.”
