Selena's POV

"Doctor Johnson, prepare to stitch up the patient. Great work everyone! The surgery was a success."

I made way for my assistant surgeon as I watched him stitch up the patient skillfully, not once did his hands shake, nor was he nervous. I smiled in satisfaction as I watched his work.

I knew that picking him as my assistant surgeon was not a mistake.

Walking out of the OR, I disposed of the bloodied gloves together with the gown and head covering.

I caught sight of Avery who was making her way towards me with a wide smile on her face. On reaching me, she gave me a bottle of water which I was grateful for.

I was dehydrated from the surgery and drained physically.

"Thanks, Avery, I really needed that. But how did you know that I was done with surgery? Aren't you supposed to be with your patients right now? What are you doing here?"

She continued smiling and kept on walking backward.
