Maximus POV

"I have enough on my plate and abiding by your rules is the last thing I am going to do. I am never going to bend my rules just for you." I yelled on my top of my voice.

I glanced at Raymond who looked really uncomfortable to be caught in the middle of this. He was looking for a way to leave but he knows better than to do that.

My father scoffed at my statement. He was clearly annoyed, but I didn’t care.

“How dare you talk to your father that way, especially in front of a stranger? Did I not train you very well or have you lost all your manners, Maximus?"

Manners? I had lost it long ago. I didn’t even know why he was making a big deal out of this. It was really annoying.

My eyes shifted to Raymond again, and I saw him shift in his seat uncomfortably.

I turned back to my father. “Raymond is in no way a stranger and more than a family to me than you ever will be and stop saying that you trained me, you didn't do shit for me, Father."
