Adriana’s POV

“It’s either you allow me to take her home or you make her go back to that house where we’re not sure if it's your stepfather or sister that wants her dead,” Massimo exclaimed, making me roll my eyes in frustration.

I couldn’t believe that he was still head bent on this same thing that we’d talked about several times and at the same time, I also couldn’t help but wonder why he wanted her at his place when we could easily rent her a flat somewhere else.

I snorted.

“No.”

“No?!” Massimo exclaimed incredulously, making a nurse who was walking past stop and stare at us skeptically before she continued with her journey. “What do you mean by no? Do you just live to put your mother in danger or what the heck is wrong—”

“And it is none of your business!” I snapped, interrupting him. “It’s none of your freaking business where I want my mother to be but you just know that there is no way I would willingly put her in the line of danger for selfish reasons!”
