Almyra's POV,

"Okay, just ten more seconds before I get there. I'm coming to get you Gina." I muttered under my breath.

Xavier's engine was still roaring over the phone, but the both of us were silent.

Finally, my car screeched as I pressed the brake. I inhaled sharply and got down from the car hurriedly, shutting it close behind me.

I made sure I switched my shoes into a more comfy one as I ran stealthily towards the house in order to keep my presence unknown.

My heart pounded in my chest as I approached the house, my senses on high alert.

The darkness seemed to swallow everything, making it impossible to see beyond a few feet.

I strained my ears to pick up any sound, but the silence was oppressive. Suddenly, a faint noise caught my attention. A muffled cry, that was Gina.

I froze, my eyes scanning the surroundings. The cry came from within the house.
