If anyone had told me that things would go downhill the next week after I reconciled with my boss, I would have asked how, and in what way.

Because things had been going pretty well for me, I had an apartment that cost almost a thousand dollars per month, a good efficient car, a stable job, and good food to eat with some savings.

I would never have thought that things could change within a few days.

It had started with my car refusing to start that morning as I hurried to work, and I turned to Kendall, who had Leah in her arms. "What's wrong?" She asked.

"I don't know. It's refusing to start at all."
