I can't explain the relief I felt at seeing my boss. It was like the evil words he had said to me never existed, and I glanced at the officer, "See I told you that I knew nothing about it."

"Still, we'll have to keep your account frozen until we figure everything out. That'll be all then."

"Wait!" I couldn't control the horrified look that blossomed on my face,

"What about my money?"

"What money?" Both Kendall and Mr. Sterling and the officer glanced back at me.

"The money that was in my bank account. I had about one to two thousand dollars there."

"Well, you won't be able to access it for the time being because it has been frozen. So..."

He left, and I felt my heart drop to my stomach. "Not my money, not my savings. How was I meant to pay my expenses now, my rent, Kyle's school fees..."

"Are you okay?" I turned to Mr. Sterling, who asked that question and he looked genuinely worried.
